Does anyone who lives in the Cleveland area have a bra and prosthesis fitter and/or store that they think is extraordinary?

Hi Wishiwere - From my research, I believe there are two docs that do them in Cleveland - One at the Cleveland Clinic and one at University Hospitals - Dr. Soltarian sp? is one of them (can't remember the other doc's name).

Honestly, I do not know if they do them with success as I haven't pursued that avenue with either of them (neither are on my insurance and other ps's have told me that I am not a candidate for DIEP due to rads -? and they'd prefer to do a TRAM, which I do not want).

Go to the websites for UH and Cleveland Clinic, you will see the ps listing there and what their specialties are. Maybe you can consult and see what you think?

I'm answering my own question about a great fitter in the Cleveland area.  The owner of The Fitting Room located at 1720 Cooper Foster Rd., Lorain, Ohio was fantastic when I went for my fitting on Saturday.  The store has a huge selection plus she is a breast cancer survivor so she is very knowledgeable.  The suggestion to take several different sweaters/blouses with you to try on is a great one and since they are your clothes, you'll know how you want the finished product to look.  By trying on the bra and prosthesis with your tops, you can see a huge difference so it's worth carting your clothes with you.

Judy has Saturday hours, plus is open at least one evening.  She also completes all of the paperwork for insurance purposes too and submits it while you wait.  She made the whole process painless, plus I have a couple of really beautiful bras, better than I've ever had.  After having worn shoulder pads in my bras for a few weeks, it does feel different with the prosthesis, and is something else to get used to, but in a good way.
