    Hello everyone,

Help! I have 15 radiation tx left to go and I miss my brassieres!

I need to ask a question to those of you who are "radiation veterans":

For those of you who have gone "braless" or at least without your usual firm support bra, have you suffered aches and pains from it?  I am a size 42D-DD (depending on brand), and under the orders of my radiation tech ladies, I have been wearing light support sports bras and camisoles to lessen the friction on the radiated area where my lumpectomy site is located (under my right breast at my bra band).  My body hurts and aches and I think it is because of lack of support for my heavy breasts.  My shoulders hurt, as well as my elbows, lower back, knees and even my neck.  Some days, I feel like I have been beaten! Could lack of a good support bra cause these pains?  I have always worn a very firm support bra with padded straps, so these skimpy sports bras are a real change for me.  I have gained about 20 lbs since dx and am pretty out of shape, so that may be part of it too.  Does anyone have any input on this, or am I just nuts?  Of course, the pains have caused me to think "mets" and I panic.  Thanks for listening to my whining!

    Hugs,

    Mary Jo

Well no-one ever responded to this old post until me!  three years later.  I am having the same aches and pains during radiation, knees, hips, lower back  and that is why I found this.  So did the pain go away?  I am attributing it to fatique.  Hope you answer back that yes, it was fatigue and went away.
