High blood pressure/Herceptin

    I have always had a blood pressure around 115/75 (avg).  I started Herceptin in Sept 07--now my blood pressure is high.  Last Friday when I went for my treatment, it was 143/100.  I checked it today and it is 143/93.  I can really feel the toll it is taking on my body.  I used to be the "work out queen".  Now, it is difficult to breath freely.  I do have an echo scheduled for this Friday.  Anyone experience the high blood pressure and have their onc take them off?  Also, if I continue to stay on it, is it safe to go through my stage II recon being on the Herceptin and Tamox?  It really makes me nervous to think about going through surgery with my blood pressure being so high.  Thanks for any advice.

    My PCP put me on blood pressure medication when I was going through chemo and upped the dosage while on herceptin.  The BP medication kept my pressure down.

    I have finished my one year of herceptin and am curious to see if my BP medication will need to be reduced.

    I went through reconstruction while I was on Herceptin and Tamoxifen - I had no trouble tolerating it - I had the Silicone implant, I did not have high blood pressure problems.  Are you measuring your BP at home?  Mine is always high at the doctor's office but low at home.

    I get Herceptin weekly and my BP is higher than normal directly after treatment.  By day 3, my BP is back to normal (i.e. 110/60).
