I was just going to ask if anyone watched TCM - it's just about my favorite channel and this is a great thread - what memories it conjures up when reading all the different posts!!   WOW and with each one, I'm nodding 'Yes, Yes."  Thanks for starting it.

    Another old time movie/book lover,

    Pat

Yesterday I sat through two Bette Davis movies:  Jezebel, just the ending, and Dark Victory, the entire movie.  They are both so manipulative and far from great drama, yet I went to bed with sore eyes from weeping.  The old time directors really knew how to hit our weak spots.  Enjoyed both immensely!

Anyone else with red eyes today?

Darn, wish I could say I have red eyes today. I love Bette Davis. Unfortunately, we have the basic cable so don't get TCM. Before all this TCM & TMC, we got more of the old movies. The other movie channels show the same old stuff--boring! They run the same ones over and over. All this 80s stuff that has no plot and the characters just do slapstick that isn't nearly as good as Charlie Chaplin, and some of the other oldies. Newer movies just aren't the same.

Nice to see another Jacques Tati fan. Many people don't even know who he is. If you haven't seen Mr. Hulot's Holiday, find a copy--it's hysterical.

I've been spending my evening reading--Jane Eyre--on the book club thread.
