Ruth- we just adopted two kittens no idea how old. (they go to the vet tomorrow.) They were left on the side of the road and a friend found them who had just gotten a puppy three months ago, so she couldn't keep them. Seemed like it was meant to be, I was going to wait a year. My cat died 6 weeks ago, the third in three years. But they were all seniors too, 17, 19 and this last one 13. But I thought I had a few more years with this last one, who was, to me, just a baby. But I am a little nuts as I have one son who will be 4 in Oct. and another who will not be 2 until Dec. Ohwell! Just another crazy cat person!

You will have so much fun with those kittens. Our last one showed up on the doorstep of my DHs office late in the day on a cold fall afternoon. A tiny, lost, one pound kitten.....I didn't really want ANOTHER cat, but, like you, it was meant to be. It was shortly after I had finished treatment and took it as a sign that life does go on and it was OK to jump back into it.
