I'm Irish on my mom's side of the family, and my godmother still sends me cards with Irish sayings on them.  I thought some of you might have favorites to share!  Here's one to get us started:

May you see God's light on the path ahead
When the road you walk is dark.
    May you always hear,
Even in your hour of sorrow,
The gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard may hardness
Never turn your heart to stone,
    May you always remember
    when the shadows fall-
    You do not walk alone.

I went to the store today to get some stuff to make something to take to a St. Patty's day party tonight.

There is NOTHING at the grocery store for it.  The whole holiday seems to have been passed over in favor of Easter.

My two daughters are with their high school marching band in Dublin for the St Patrick's Day parade.

We'll be wearing green - can't drink guinness at work :(

At my grocery store, they have all the corned beef on sale and pre cut veggies for Irish Stew.

Happy St. Paddy's day from this west end of the US! We are having lamb stew tonight. Can't quite bear the salt in the corned beef. It's a tradition here to get together with our neighbors at our house. We sit around the table and visit and catch up, and they all go home with left-overs, cuz I always make too much. It's one of the few times I find a way to have lamb--not everyone likes it.

My dh's family comes from County Kilkenney (sp?), and Ireland is at the top of our list to visit. We are encouraged by friends to do some geneology work before we go. Guess our last name is very common over there. Someday, when dh retires we will make the trip. And I don't want to miss Scotland or Wales when we go.

So, how many are opting for green beer tomorrow?
