Is anyone avoiding multi-vitamins or glucosamine because of the copper they contain?  A nutrionist recently told me don't take either cause copper aids cancer in creating new blood vessels.

    Thanks,

I  am still taking my multiple and it does have copper.  My alternative dr said zinc needs copper for proper utilization.  I was using some strong copper peptides on my face for a few years prior to my diagnosis.  I often wondered about the copper peptides contribution to the bc.  I love the stuff but have stopped it.

When I first started going to my alternative/complementary dx, he told me that for a person with BC, I had too much copper in my system and told me to avoid avocado and shrimp and to drink only bottled or filtered water.  He also gave a mineral to take in drop form that I really didn't use but he said it was OK because just making those few changes lowered my copper to what he considered acceptable levels for someone with BC.  So, you may wish to consider avoiding product with copper or ask your onc to test the level of copper in your blood to see if you even have to worry about it.
