I'm bitchy, I moan, I groan.....anyway.

Hopefully, the funny will catch up to you. A big that SUX for now.
-
Okay I wasnt gonna share this but my half sister had her boobs examined today. They found cysts in one and put a marker in it. The other one may have a lump worth looking at due to size. So she wants to know how the staging works and what stage is she? I said, "Kathy, I have not even SEEN your breasts let alone staging them! At that point my husband snorted out his coffee from across the room.
-
Dream...the funny just caught up! That's hilarious! My doc gave me a script for Ambien, which I promptly took to the CVS. Too bad she wrote it for a strength it doesn't come in so they wouldn't fill it. Now, THAT SUX. I'm supposed to go into the office tomorrow and I'm wide awake again. I thought a few benadryl might work...but all that did was give me a splitting headache. I'm wishing I'd gone out and gotten that chocolate cake
-
I'm more wide-awake than you.....thinking of you navygirl! Keep us posted on this thread so we don't have to hunt you down. All of you!
-
I have an SOI - the ultra sound of my upper right abdomen showed only a GALLSTONE - nothing remarkable about my liver. woo hoo.
Here's a big that sux for all who need it.
Hugs,
Trish

PinkyLee: I hear you, we are going around and around with our insurance company for things that should have been a nonissue.
NavyGirl: So sorry this is happening to you. I agree with you, off the ride now
Susan: saw the brown/yellow fat thing. I'm guessing I don't have much brown : )
Dream: thanks for the laugh, I think you may need to post that on the Laughter is the best medicine/road to hell thread
Stella: that made my day

Bonnie, my dear, in the interests of living a more serene and less medicated weekend -
Now your ob/gyn, (who found this bump, right?) knows your reconstructive history (complete bilateral DIEP right?)and yet he/she says the new boo-boo is near the location of the original tumor? In what would now be, pardon my bluntness, belly fat? Plastic surgeons cannot count the number of panicked calls they get due to fat necrosis in DIEP tissue or margins (raising guilty hand), but it's usually not an ob/gyn who precipitates the panic. Might this indeed be in reconstructed tissue and not be in breast tissue after all?
Just a theory
Lisa
-
"Too big and too far from the armpit" is more precisely what you said. I still vote for fat necrosis.
Who's with me!?!
Lisa
-
I vote for fat necrosis too!
-
I'm all for fat necrosis...but I have two of those and this doesn't feel anything like them? Not that it still can't be I guess, I only know what I know from the ones I had develop after surgery. Either way, I'll feel better when I get the oncs take on it...in the mean time I picked up my Ambien so, better living through pharmaceuticals until I know some facts. Please tell me you eventually get to the point where it's not as nerve wracking when something like this comes up? I can't imagine getting so spun up for the rest of my life. What a waste of energy it is.
Thanks for the thoughts and vibes for necrosis ladies...I'm going with random lump until I know differently...
-
Oh, prayer...I forgot to say "YIPPEE" for you ...gallstones sounds like a great answer to me!!!!
-
Navygirl,
Isn't funny that facing a possible surgery for gallstone sounds wondeful?!! LOL Go figure! The report stated that I have a distended gallbladder - which I found out that it means that the gallbladder is larger than normal. Can I blame my weight gain on that? (tee hee)
Hugs,
Trish
PS - fat necrosis is my vote
-
Trish - Whooppee for gall stones!! That operation is doable and a big relief from the nasty SEs.
Navy - let's go for a random lump of fat!!
Dream - Good one, girl! And, I love the snorting coffee part! It's like the icing on the cake!
-
Okay that's not fair telling us that yellow fat is good for us and brown fat is not. How do WE know the difference. Does that mean we can eat yellow foods... butter, yellow icing, white cake and not (gasp!) chocolate?
-
Dream - we're in luck!! Brown fat is good!!!
-
Trish that is wonderful. Navy...big ole suxs to you!!
SOI from me....my brest Mri showed almost all the cancer gone from in the breast!!! Now just to wait on the bone scans and ct scan.
-
a quick stop from the computer center because my puter needs to be fixed. My son can do it, but he is busy till Saturday. He tells me it is not 'broken", but dont use it. I was having withdrawal so came over to use this hunk of junk. Hugs for everyone and THAT SUCKS (((((((( bonnie )))))))))))))), poop, crap, dang, piss, etc, etc.
-
prayer...hoping for gallbladder surgery is as good as hoping for a random lump of fat! OMG, the things we learn to appreciate here! Also, brown = chocolate = brown fat from chocolate. I see the math in that!
Nancy...That Sux! Maybe it was that bad email you got? I hope your son can fix it for you! I'd be so bored without my puter!
Gotta go put coffee on...FINALLY, back to work today! The ambien got me a solid 5 hours last night so I am soooo ready to go.
HAPPY FRIDAY....HAPPY GOOD FRIDAY....and HAPPY EASTER everone!!!
-
Navygirl STOP! You don't have to go to work today, it's a national holiday! I know how confusing it can get when you've been off work and weekends just don't mean anything. If you really are going to work, have fun!
I thought you guys were talking about when the fat was inside us. I was wondering how you knew what colour your fat was. Doi on me!
So you're saying don't eat butter, margarine, animal fat, lard, etc. Okay, but the only brown fat I know IS chocolate unless I'm missing a very big part of the equation.....
-
LOL...Barbe, It doesn't happen often but I think we finally confused you...I was speaking figuratively about the "brown" fat...but there are two kinds - one good, one bad and apparently one brown (good) and yellow (bad)...I think it has something to do with the yellow fat being what strangles your organs and is deep inside your abdomen (heart, liver, etc) and the brow fat being surface fat which you can burn off...
BTW..it is fun being back at work! of course, it is ALSO FRIDAY!
-
Hah! Ya got me!
So chocolate isn't a good fat? You're telling me this at Easter why?
-
Big Happy Easter to All!!
Huge Huge Happy Birthday to Kathi (KAK) Hope you are having a great day!!
Barbe- I have a very different take on the chocolate (fat) thing. I have been told that there is such a thing as medicinal chocolate, can't remember who first told me, but, I am sticking with that. Now if you add in the fact that a rabbit's foot is supposed to be good luck....if one was to eat only the chocolate (medicinal) feet of the Easter bunnies, would that not constitute good health to our bodies. Personally, I think it is worth a try. Now I won't tell anyone how to eat their bunny, so you can eat it feet first, then stop as the good luck medicine stops there or you can start traditionally at the ears and stop after you have eaten the medicinal good luck feet!!! Either way should be acceptable. Plus if no one sees you eat it , it doesn't count!!!
Hope everyone has a sux's free weekend.
-
I've heard from a very reliable source that broken chocolate has no calories!
-
HAPPY BIRTDHAY KATHI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I missed that in the post and was wondering why only Kathi was getting wished Happy Easter. Doi.

-

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATHI!!!!!!!!!!!
-
KAK, they say it's your birthday--well, happy birthday to you!

Thanks, girls! I have uploaded a new avatar to mark the day. I totally understand why having gall stones removed is preferable to other options. It's that lesser-of-two-evils thing. I'm now in the state of mind that having a mastectomy is preferable to having to keep worrying about "more calcifications." We'll see. The way I look at it, it's only surgery. I can recover from surgery and probably only have to have surgery if it's DCIS again -- not chemo, not radiation, etc. And maybe have a longer mental reprieve from this stinking disease, which I'm not getting now, that's for sure.
Helluva thing to have to think about on my birthday. Had a meltdown about all this at work yesterday, one of those things where I was uncharacteristically snippy with one of my colleagues, then another colleague who was there asked me if I was okay, and I went running off to the nearby women's room and burst into tears. Oh, gawd. I was overdue for a meltdown. So, I got to cry my eyes out, get hugs and generally feel very lucky that I have such wonderful work colleagues. This morning, I've gotten lots of birthday phone calls, eaten dark chocolate (the darker, the more medicinal, by the way. Really!! It has more phenylethylalanine, which is a lovely substance that makes us feel loved), had ziti with meatballs for lunch, had cheesecake for dessert, and now I'm going to go for a hike with my dog. It's warm out and the daffodils are starting to bloom.
I get a diagnostic mamm next Friday.
-
You know, I have NEVER seen a fat gram or a calorie, do they really exist???????
-
Rats!! I guess I still don't know how to down load a picture!! So, double birthday peeps to you, Kathi!
