I'm bitchy, I moan, I groan.....anyway.

Traci,
Merry Christmas! Have a great time in Colorado!!! Enjoy your WHITE CHRISTMAS! They ARE magical! While I lived in Maryland, we almost NEVER had a WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!
((((DIANE))))
I am SO sorry for all you are going through, and at CHRISTMAS, too! Sending (((HUGS))) your way, and remember you are in my prayers, dear. Love ya!
Wish,
I read that wrong.... DUH!! You are right... even though I have only lived here in NC for TWO years, I feel like I have lived here all my life! I wouldn't go and shovel out of that snow, and get blocked back into my driveway by a snowplow, and shovel out AGAIN, just to go in to work, when I was feeling crappy, and fixin' to get a sinus infection, like you are, dear! I WISH you could stay at home and rest.
When I lived in Maryland, we had one very nasty winter, when EVERY week, it seemed we were getting hit with these nasy ice storms, and every weekend, I would take an ice pick or some sort of pointy tool, and clear out all the ice from around the car, so that I could go to work the next week. At the end of the winter, sometime in March, I had just had enough. I was feeling like I was getting a sinus infection, so I just called my boss and told him that I wouldn't be in because I was SICK! (I was SICK of all that ice!!!)(((HUGS)))

Holy Suckola... A few hours away from this thread and boom, bang, major IOS going on. Hugs and Prayers for each of you. Double Hugs for you, Diane.
-
As SUCKY as all has been for everyone lately, I have to admit to a major! SOI! Actually 2.
One, I came home from work and someone had come in and PLOWED the drive out! I know it wasn't a neighbor, b/c they have those little lawn tractor plows and these snow piles are now about 5-6 feet tall, so they couldn't have done it! I have NO idea who, but I was expecting to have to back down the ruts I made before I left! What a sweet thing someone did for us
Then at work, (I only work a couple/3 days a week for the last few months), the owner tells us to expect a bonus in our checks before Christmas! I was amazed! Dh works 6 days a week, 14 hours a day, and he's lucky if he gets a thank you. In fact, they cancelled their company christmas party. I work for this lady for a few months part time and she shows her appreciation for a job well done. I was nearly speechless!
I'm sure it won't be much, but it's going to Diane
It's not something I expected Diane, so I'm going to share it with you and hope it helps if nothing else to decrease your feelings about it all and help to lift you in spite of life's situation right now, K? Many {{hugs}} dear!

I'm editing this post to avoid getting in trouble for soliciting on the forum. You can find out how to help Diane by clicking on the following link: http://www.helpdiane.org/ If any of you has any questions with this, send me a PM.
Thanks to all of you.

I hate that this is so many problems this time of the year, no wonder this is the higher rate of suicide time of the year. Don't worry I'm not one that would do that, but I have been falling deeper in my little hole. DIL showed up today to pick up a bunch of things I have been busting my butt to pack! No wonder I am in so much pain and just sleep. It is unreal the sleeping I am doing but I am just so down about not seeing my boys. Hopefully tomorrow is going to be a day to see them. She said she would try and get them to me in time to decorate the tree with the family. We have an on going tradition on how we decorate the tree and the couple that helps us and kind of adopted us. I don't know what it is but I have people adopt me wherever I move so I have so much adoped family! But I know Ricky has his own ornament he can find to hang which everyone loves to do. Part of the fun is them finding all the silly looking ornaments they made as kids that I have kept all the time. they can each tell you when and where they made these ornaments. I have a college recruiter in the am for my son so I really have a buys day tomorrow and neeed to be awake To top it all off I am trying to stay up enough to keep up with eveyone heere. I love you all and thanks for being my rock to lean on!!!!!!
-
luann, don't mean to pry, but does your son know everything that's been happening? can he get some legal assistance from the military? do you know if he's talked to her. i think the suggestion a few posts back about changing the locks is a good one. she left voluntarily so she should not have free access to your home. my humble opinion.
-
(((LuAnn)))
I'm so sorry you are going through so much CRAP! There! I said it! (They won't kick me off the boards for my language, will they?)
(((HUGS)))
Hope you have a Merry Christmas, dear! I'm praying for you!!
Harley
-
LuAnn, why, why, WHY is your DIL doing all this??? I just don't get it. {{{{{{LuAnn}}}}}}
Harley, are you okay these days? I know you were engaged in the now-increasingly-fruitless task of looking for a job. Are you keeping the wolf from the door, girlfriend? Hope so.
Saint, thanks for the words of wisdom. I thought of that. I'll PM you. If I get in trouble, I get in trouble for a good cause.
-
I don't post on this thread, but I am a faithful reader. You all are wonderful girls and I feel like I've gotten to know all of you. I gave a little to HelpDiane.org because every little bit helps, I'm sure.
Hugs to all! Juli
-
I so hope you are able to have some meaningful time with 'your' babies today, LuAnn. I can only imagine the anguish of having them taken from you (and kept from you) when they have always been there. Here's to a successful tradition carried on with the little ones. You and of all your family are in my prayers for a rapid resolution to this fiasco!
Lisa -
Oh my goodness, so much going on. Gentle hugs and kickass prayers all around today.
Hold tight to the faith that has gotten us all this far. Some how, some way, I believe it will all work out.

Kathi,
I'll be ok, thanks for thinking of me.
I got this nasty sinus infection, and I think I will lay low until after the Holidays. But, after Jan 1st, I'll start to look for a job again. I am hoping to sign up at a temp. employment agency in Myrtle Beach. Thanks for thinking of me. You are SO sweet!

thanks to everyone for thier kind comments but my dil never had a key. We never locked the house before now but now everything is always locked because I don't trust what her father will do or her friends. She let me have the kids for about 3 hours today, we had a blast playing! Ricky was really tired and needed a nap but I know she was going to put him to bed at 7 no matter what I didn't bother with the nap. If she wuold have left me PJ's I would have kept them longer and did their baths. She talked wiht my son and siad whe would share the custody so I don't think it is going to rd to getting what the wants.

It's snowing to beat the band here. Fortunately I am 99% complete with Christmas shopping; just missing a few things for stockings. The husband is still working down in CA and has his flight booked for Tuesday. We are hoping that the weather clears enough that the flights make it in and out of Burbank. Alaska has cancelled flights today and tomorrow.
We tried to get to the mall, but couldn't get within a mile of it...the roads were gridlocked. We ended up in a one-hour loop from home back again. On a no-snow day it would be 10 minutes max to get there.
The SOI to all this is that I'm off work for the next 2 weeks and it doesn't matter - I can stay home in my pjs.
LuAnn - so happy to hear that you got to play with the kids.
-
Pam, glad you made it home safely. I thought I read they were saying in Washington or was it oregon to stay off the road, b/c it's blizzard conditions there! Be safe! We've got another round coming tomorrow morning through sunday night! UGH! 5 rounds before Winter starts is not a good omen for what we are in for this winter!
-
finally have something good to report. younger ds who lives in calif. flew in tonight for the holidays...no arrival delays...no landing delays in newark despite what the news said. will be staying with a dear friend for the weekend and coming down by me on monday till the following sunday. i'm so excited...haven't seen him since march and last month when i was so sick i was sincerely scared i wouldn't see him again. so this Christmas i'll have all 3 of my kids and 2 grandsons here...what a wonderful gift. love to all, maria
-
Marie, that's wonderful they will all be home!
Enjoy it. My dh will be working and dd at her beaus mom's xmas eve and his granny's on christmas day. She'll stop here in the morning, but it's going to be the quietest christmas I've ever had
So enjoy it for me too
-
Today was also the shortest day and longest night of the year. There is a correlation between lack of daylight and suicide rates. I remember reading something about it.
My IOS is a mouse - it had to have run all over the kitchen counter to get to my onion rolls. Chewed a hold in the plastic and ate half a roll. The apartment office said they will have to "order" some traps -- no one can go to Home Depot??? So, I got 4 traps and had a dickens of a time setting them with my hand limitations. Then I put on double rubber gloves and got out the clorox and disinfected everything. Ick, yuck... There is a huge hole under the sink where the pipes come thru and I did not have any steel wool to stuff in. I was NOT going back to get some.
And I was going to make lemon bars only to find out I need flour and I have none... I got lemon, butter, eggs, and powdered sugar at the grocery store. So, tomorrow I will get flour and steel wool - some grocery list... lol...
Christmas Day I will be alone, which is fine with me. My son will pick me up on Christmas Eve when he gets off work and we will exchange gifts and try to find a place to have a meal. His wife and he both have to work till 3:00 so we decided an early dinner out would be our Christmas dinner. They are flying to Florida early the next morning to be with his wife's parents. I will not have to take down any decorations since I did not put any up.
-
I can't even pull myself together and tell y'all what my IOS is. Tears would get in the way no matter what I'd do and they just would keep welling up in my eyes. I'm literally collapsed and torn to pieces. That's all I can say.
Hope everyone is having a better day.
Hugs,
Fumi
-
Oh sweet Fumi......I am so sorry you are hurting. Please know that we are here for you, when you want to vent.
I can't bear to think of you being so unhappy at this time of year (or any time)
((((FUMI))))

-
(((((((((fumi)))))))))) I'm so sorry you have crapola going on...I hope whatever it is, it's better today.
LuAnn - I'm also so happy you got to spend some time with the kids...I hope DIL stays friendly and doesn't use them to punish.
Wish - I'd be glad to take some of your snow...it's only 18degrees here and if it's gonna be cold, it should snow!
Harley - I'm sorry about the sinus infection, I know how much they suck and yours sounds just horrible! I hope you are feeling better soon...
KAK - all I can say here is, Thank You for being the leader...You Rock!
Nancy - at least it's just a mouse...disgusting still but as close as we are to DC I'm always glad it's a mouse my cat brings me and not something bigger with a long, hairless tail!!!!1
No IOS today and I'd kinda like to keep it that way! I just had a glorious weekend in Florida with my friends and I don't want to spoil coming home by having cr%p to deal with
waiving to you all!!
-
Hi everyone: Thanks Bonnie, I also hope it is just a "small" furry critter since I did not see it. I am trying to get caught up on laundry and not lift more than 5 pounds at a time. Just exactly how heavy is 5 pounds anyways??? I am about to get out of here and go get some flour and steel wool. The sun is out, but only 17 degrees. I would expect that temp with snow.. but none forecast.
Is there a ditty for Monday - like TGIF for Friday??? Maybe OMGIM - oh my gosh, it's monday ??
Try to keep smiling = it makes others wonder what is going on.. Hugs, Nancy
-
OHMYGOSH! I bet you all can guess what my SOI is today!!!! After I signed off the other day, I'd been off the computer. I talked to Luann on the phone last night and she told me to check my paypal...........WHAT A SURPRISE! I can't tell you all how thankful I am. Every time I try to find the words, my eyes glaze over...the fear is much smaller and the hope is much bigger--the way it should be! I pray that each of you is blessed richly for having such loving and generous hearts.
Fumi, I am so sorry you're feeling down. I hope you can feel the loving support from all of us surrounding you.
Nancy, I have a cat I could send you...of course, then you'd be looking for mouse parts and not a whole mouse. ICK!
I'm probably going to be MIA till Christmas is over, so I hope you all have a wonderful holiday. I'm sending up prayers that there are so many SOIs while I'm gone that we have pages and pages of GOOD things to talk about. You all deserve it!
"Thank you," doesn't come close to saying what I'm feeling. Bless you all!
((((HUGS)))
DianePS: Nancy, my junior high principal had sayings for every day of the week. Monday was "Have a MAAAAAAAAAHHHHVELOUS Monday." Hope everyone has one!
-
(((DIANE)))
Hope you are feeling better. Sending HUGS your way!!
Bonnie
Thanks for thinking of me. The IOS for me is that I'm almost finished the anti biotic and I still feel like crap. I DO feel better, but it doesn't seem to be ready to go away anytime soon. This means, I guess, that I will get up from this computer, and drive over to my pcp dr's office and sit... and sit... until he can fit me in. Oh, I so hope they are NOT closed this week before Christmas, too! My dr. told me that they will be open on Dec 26th, but he will be closed NEXT WEEK. I hope that meant the week AFTER CHRISTMAS!!
Take care everyone! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!!!
Harley -
Hugs Fumi & anyone else who needs them---and a big THAT SUX to boot!
Diane-woke up this AM thinking of your news & all I could think of was George Bailey in It's A Wonderful Life! You are a rich woman........
May we all be blessed with the TRUE joy of the season........
on my way for a scan & hopefully some answers--LATER!!!! Be well & stay strong (KIT & KTF)
-
Diane, glad it has raised your spirits, that's what we were hoping for
Harley? Can you just call and explain to them that you need a refill on the meds? My doc will do that one time with infections, but after that, he wants to see me. Can't hurt to ask when you call, right?
Nancy! Shivers is all I could think of! I hate mice IN the house. Outside fine, but in here, I go to the ends to rid them and then cleaning! UGH I feel for you!
{{{FUMI}}} Hope today is improving since your post and your able to enjoy the season as you should. It always hurts us when one of is hurting so badly. Arms wrapped around you, gently caring and listening...hang in there lady.
-
Sending gentle hugs to you, Fumi, Harley, Diane, LuAnn, Nancy and anyone else who may be needing them...
Wish, how did you make out in with all the snow?
KAK, you really do ROCK, my dear
-
I had my 2nd Taxol today and they told me my hematocrit and hemoglobin were critical low. After calling my insurance company for approval, they gave me an injection of Aranesp. This might be contributing to why I am so dog-gone tired. Is anybody familiar with Aranesp?
