Please Pray for Ferne

I am very sorry to report that our dear friend, Ferne, FD411, is being admitted to the hospital as I write this. Her brain mets came back. She has not been doing well lately. She did not tolerate her new chemo at all and she knew there was something wrong.
Over the last couple of days she was getting worse and worse and I was really getting worried about her. Now we know why.
I don't know what to write or what to ask for except to ask that you keep her in your heart and prayers. She is one of the kindest, most caring, loving people I have ever known. She is like a sister to me and she has always been there for all of us.
If I hear from her roomate or mom I will let you know.
I may go up to Rochester if they think it is the right time.
Thank you for keeping her in your thoughts.
love,
g -

I will also Pray for Ferne. We should set up a time on the board to have a multi prayer from all of us for all of us. Say book a time on Sunday night at 7:00, just an idea, sort of like remembrance day at 11:00 for all the soldiers, what do you think. Pearl But I will still say a prayer right now.

I also lit a candle for Ferne. Annie

I'm so sad. Ferne has been my rock despite all that she has been going through. She is truly the most caring person. She's been helping me guide my good friend who has brain mets. When I wasn't writing, Ferne was looking for ME to find out how I was doing and how my friend was doing.
Ferne..you are in my thoughts..always.
I'm so sorry you are going through this.
You have been such an inspiration...
-
Bless you dear Ferne. I pray for your complete healing for I believe in miracles..GOD BLESS and may you be home soon...

Lifting you up in mighty prayers.

I have a bit of an update...
I have spoken to our dear friend a few times. I had her laughing this morning. She does not know when she will be discharged. They are trying to find a way to get her pain under control enough for her to be able to get out of bed and walk without pain. Unfortunately, that has not improved at all.
I know she wants to be at home for whatever should be coming next.
She has asked for each of you.
Ravdeb, I sent you a PM, she wanted you to know she is praying for your friend.
Girls, I want to do something special for Ferne.
If you would like to help me, please PM me. It is something I think would really cheer her.
Please keep praying for her... she feels your love and prayers.
Love to you,
g

Hello girls,
Our Ferne is still in the hospital, they moved her to a private room to help make her more comfortable.
Unfortunately, her pain has not been eased and that is the ONE THING she wishes for.
Apparently the mets in her spine are making the pain worse.
Once they can figure out something that works, she can go home and hospice will treat her there. I know she does not want to do hospital based hospice. And the food is really awful - what she can eat of it without getting sick.
She found out there is wi-fi in the hospital so her roomate brought her laptop to her. I don't know if she will be feeling up to going on line, because everything makes her so uncomfortable. But in case she does, these posts will sure make her happy.
She is being Ferne... meaning sweet, caring and worried about others around her. She is unlike anyone I have ever met in my life.
Please pray for pain relief. That is what she needs the most.
Thank you, everyone.
Love,
g -

Ferne is out of the hospital and at home in her own room now. Her wonderful best friend and roomate, Lori, is taking good care of her.
She is having lucid moments and some confused moments. Lori is able to keep her pain managed better than the hospital because she is on top of it, rather than Ferne having to ask for it.
It is absolutely heartbreaking.
I ask that you all please keep Lori in your prayers too. She lost her SO to cancer a little over a year ago and this is really hitting her hard.
Thank you everyone.
Love to you,
g -
My very best to Lori and dear Ferne. What a wonderful friend Lori is. Ferne is very lucky to have her by her side...
I'm so sad for the two of them.
Please send Ferne my love...straight from the heart..

:-( Gina...this board is very sad today!! Thank you for the update on Ferne. I've read many of Ferne's posts and have taken many things from them. She is a great source of inspiration. I'm just saddened to hear this. But I will keep her and Lori in my thoughts and prayers. No words can sound good at this point. Just a sad day. Prayers coming your way Ferne!!!
