and the way it's treated is total crap.

My gf was diagnosed 2 months ago with IDC, Stage 1, ER/PR+, Her2/Neu -, blah blah blah. She had a mastectomy and what the medical community dances around is the fact that even early stage breast cancer can come back. And it's not even like there's a progression to it and they can test reliably for it. The same doctor who says "oh hey you're good to go, congrats!" can a couple years later say "o wait, remember that life threatening disease I said was gone? actually, my bad. it's now metastasized and you're pretty much f---ed. sorry about that." That is complete and utter crap. It is not acceptable that one day you can be declared free of cancer, and then suddenly oops! you're actually gonna die from it, good game. We live in San Diego, where the best biotech companies and researches are, and for decades now these people have been saying, "Oh but we're so close to a cure! Give us a few billion dollars more plz." Bullsh*t. While you're dawdling, women are f---ing dying goddamit. Give us the f---ing cure NOW FFS! Obviously doctors have no idea how to prevent this sh*t from coming back and wrecking shop. So women needs some means of stopping it permanently. I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE MY GF!!! This "oh you're early stage, your prognosis is good," followed by, "whoops, actually you're now metastatic and it's all over the place" is f----ing acceptable. FIX. THIS. SH*T.
