You Gals in Durham Region
Comments

Hey having just read the Who's in Ontario thread there seems do be 5 or 6 of us in Durham Region. I would love for us gals to get together and compare notes concerning Dx, hospitals, Dr.'s and treatment.
What do you say Durham Region Girls???
I don't like to talk in public but I guess if there where a few of us...
To tell the truth and for what ever reason I was very reluctant to let people know about my Dx and treatment . Now that I am 3 years out, though still dealing with reconstruction...I find it a lot easier to talk about...well with you all anyways

Hi Dorathy
I'm up for getting together. I too try to keep my diagnosis to myself but lately the word seems to be getting around. For me it's about trying to live as normally as possible with a stage iv diagnosis. People just treat you differently. I was more open the first time around and treated the disease as a passing phase. This time it's a little more consuming. But I'm a fighter and I want to enjoy every moment of my life. It does help to talk to people who have experienced this disease instead of those who are trying to imagine what it's like. So let's hope some of the other gals want to get together too. It'll be fun.

Hi Dorathy:
)
You gals in Durham, it is v. pretty
out that way
I often go to Second Mile Marsh
for birding.. Chickadees come right
up to be hand fed and the viewing there
is great, near the Lake
I have friends in Pickering, as well
should be out there today really
I was also out to the Flea Market
Enjoy!
Stay on a good path all.

Hi Debbie
You are so right about the way people treat you. And the way they look at you too. I just didn't wanted to be treated any different or have anyone feel uncomfortable around me. Do you know what I mean? I'm sure you do.
Anyway back to this get together I have a number of days free in March and think the sooner we iron this get together out the more likely it will happen. Sometimes we gals are all talk and no action. So let's make this happen.
Lets give it till next week and see how many more post we get and then we can set this thing up.
I'm thinking we could all get together for an early lunch if that works for everyone or dinner if that is better for the gals that work days.
I'll post the days and evenings that are good for me and maybe the rest can do the same and than we can work out a time and a place to meet.

Have you joined the canadian roll call? There are other TO ladies as well. Anyway, I hope to work on this soon and wonder if anyone else has ideas otherwise I can host one in Port Perry by the lake and at my house.
