Chlorella enhances immune system?

I have been reading some very interesting things about Chlorella.
I found this on the American Cancer Society website.....
Chlorella is promoted for a wide range of herbal remedy uses. Proponents claim it kills several types of cancers, fights bacterial and viral infections, enhances the immune system,Chlorella contains vitamin C and carotenoids, both of which are antioxidants (see Beta Carotene and Vitamin C). Antioxidants are compounds that block the action of activated oxygen molecules, known as free radicals, which can damage cells. Chlorella is also reported to contain high concentrations of B-complex vitamins (see Vitamin B Complex).
Some investigators claimed that the algae decreased the side effects of chemotherapy and slowed the growth of some cancer cells. Most of the research has been conducted in Japan, where chlorella is a top-selling dietary supplement.
What is the evidence?
Limited laboratory and animal research suggests that these algae may have some anti-cancer properties. Chlorella powder may inhibit the activity of some molecules involved in growth of cancer cells. One investigation concluded that a protein extract from one type of chlorella prevented the spread of cancer cells in mice. Another study in mice suggested that the extract reduced the side effects of chemotherapy treatment without affecting the potency of anti-cancer medications.
What do you think?

Nancy,
Thank you for posting this interesting info. I've seen Chlorella in the health food store but have not tried it. Will have to add this to my list (I spend far too much money in the health food store
)

Hi Nancy,
I just purchased SuperFood Plus from Dr. Shultze's online store. He is the Dr. that Genesis did his 30 days incurables program. He is an herbalist and natural healer. His website has offended some ladies on this board, but I find him a real positive straight-shooter. I've tried other "Green" drinks before, but this one is really good. Has Spirulina Algae, Blue-Green Algae, Chlorella Broken-Cell Algae and a whole bunch of other good organic ingredients. I like the taste better than any other I've tried, I mix it with organic apple juice. I must say, I have more energy and my skin looks smoother since getting it a week ago. I took my 2 dogs for a walk yesterday and I jogged half of it. I NEVER do that because I work on my feet. I feel good today! There's lots of science behind the benefit of these little organisms. Good luck!
