But why do they always looked pissed off? I've never seen a happy bald eagle!
-
-
I think it is that "Eagle Eye" barbe. That stare into the far distance.
-
One eagle came about two inches from hitting me in the face..scared me to death
-
He was probably pretty upset about you, too, Lisa!!! Nice rose...
Ah, that "stare into the future" look, because it's better than the present, stare.
-
It's serious business being the national bird & all....poor things don't get the opportunity to go party very often I'd bet!
-
LOL Barbe you are so right. Not a cheerful bird at all.
-
Hello, "interrupting" your thread, in cuz I just read a post from SoCalLisa on another thread, that she wasn't walking? I was banned for a long time, so missed a lot! Lisa - hope you are healing, from what ever. Reading about "eagle" in above few posts, thought you might find this I got in email from a friend, well, interesting, hopeful ( I hope I haven't misread and that you all DO like eagles?)
-
Wonderful video.
-
Such a moving video...I wish we had been able to see her eat and fly!!! Thanks for sharing, sunflowers.
-
I am OK other than the fact that I haven't been able to walk for about four months..docs have ruled out plantar fasciitis and some other stuff..they think it is a bone spur digging into my heel tissue..we have tried PT now for almost five weeks. no good..am heading back to my PCP next week.but he is worthless...
-
Lisa, I didn't know you couldn't walk! Do you mean distance or at all? Have you tried the facitis boot anyway? That might give you some relief.
-
-
As with all the pics I post, see hovertext for photographer credit.
-
STUNNING flowers!!!!! And the bird ain't too bad. Must be a female as it lacks the colours males have. I think I have that right.
-
Home this weekend for dd's baby shower today ... great time ... but this was last weekend at our bay. Yup, I still call it "our" bay cause sometimes we're the only ones down there, which is how we like it!!!
-
Did we know DD was having a baby Marlegal??? Boy or girl? First grand? Tenth grand??? I must have forgotten! When is she due??? And by 'last weekend' you don't mean the last weekend you will be there this year, do you??
-
Barbe, you know what? It's possible I hadn't mentioned it!!! I still do the chat rooms regularly and told that group, but may have forgotten to post here. Yup, first grandchild is due end of Sept - do not know whether boy or girl, and they are not going to find out ahead of time. And ... drum roll ... other dd will deliver four months after that!!! Can you say excitement???? And no, thankfully it was not our last weekend there, it was just the weekend before last weekend
We don't close up till late Oct or early Nov. One of the benefits of actually owning the land our camper is on - we're not governed by traditional campground rules and can open earlier and close later. Don't really have to close till Dec, but usually by mid-Fall, I'm ready to pack it in so to speak.
-
CONGRATS!!! Are you going to be gramma, grandma, nana or what???
-
marlegal - Congratulations and welcome to the world of Grandparents. It is a wonderful and dleightful place to be. Hope you have the opportunity to watch them grow up and enjoy every age and stage they go through in life. What a blessing is coming your way. I have 7 and love them all so very much.
-
Thanks ladies. Barbe, not sure of name yet ... keep changing my mind! Right now I'm actually leaning toward Nannie - just read it within the last day or two somewhere and like it (so far!) DD doesn't have any preset that she wants - we're both secretly hoping the child will come up with some strange combo of sounds and we'll go with that
Eli, I'm less than an hour from the one, and just about 2 hours from the other. One much more doable than the other, but both doable!

I figured out my photo problem...I was using Safari browser and it would not work so switched to Internet Explorer and it did..who knew?
-
Well, actually Lisa, we ALL know now!! hehehehehe
GORGEOUS as usual chabba!!!!
-
from boats to flowers
-
But let's put in a boat for the Coast Guard
-
Coast Guard boats always seem to look almost as good as their crews! Where we live, when I see the Coast Guard, be it a boat or helicopter, I automatically start praying and don't stop until I hear on the news the mission was completed successfully. We only see them when they are on a rescue mission. It is amazing how fast a copter can get here from Astoria OR.
