BEACHIES!!!!!!
Been away this week on a variety of FL adventures. Tues I had my first school visit in FL -- over in Tampa & we had lunch with old friends on the inter-coastal.
Then Wed & Thurs we went over to New Smyra Beach to my brothers (on the Atlantic) and had some walks in the sand. Haven't even had a chance to download the pics yet.
I have launched a whole new 'enterprise' in the last couple of weeks and I'm getting so excited about how its coming together. I've launched a new 'collaborative' blog for early childhood. We now have 30 authors -- each to write one article per month. Anyhow, today I just landed our final contributor. He's a BIG dog and I'm thrilled that he wants to get involved with our new effort.
It's taking some extra energies to get it going but its going to be so awesome when we get it into full gear!!!! Here's to new adventures for all.
KIRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome to the beach. I'm so thrilled to see you here!!!!!!!! And you've already figured out how to share photos!!!!!
Must find ya some flip-flops -- our traditional welcome gift.
LUV LUV LUV seeing all the photos!
It's been a big week.
Next week I have a conference in FL. I can't believe it's Mon & Tues before Thanksgiving, that seems unheard of to me?!?!?! But I'm THRILLED to find opportunities while we're down here, so I'm looking forward to it. I have two workshop presentations so that's exciting.
I have a wack-doodle thing, give-away going on at my blog. There are 35 romance books being given away + my picture book. LOLOLOL!!!!! It seemed like a good idea at the time. If anyone wants a chance to win a TON of romance books pop thru and sign up. My blog link is in my signature.

Everyone have a great weekend. We're getting closer to our page 750 party!!!!

here's another from our FL trip, two weeks ago now - where the hell does the time go? I love how the sun is sooo round in this pic. the family you can see down near water's edge were cute ... a dad with tripod taking lots of pics of himself, wife and child - I hope he got at least one great one in the bunch, he tried soooo hard! I just think it's so cool how we were in Florida, technically on the east coast, yet got to see sunsets by walking across the street to the Gulf of Mexico facing west. does it get better? not for me
-
Marl I know exactly how you feel.Nice shot. There is something about the ocean (sight, soundand smell) that totally takes my mind away from any worries. This is why I love to travel to a beach so often.
Lisa you think that bird is ugly what about this guy?My DH thought we should use his ugly mug for a mystery pic on one of the other threads I follow.
Roseate Spoonbill (Cuba) I'm sure you Florida ladies have seen them as well.
-
Woops sorry about the double. Faith way to go girl.Wish I had all of your energy.Let us know when that blog is up and running.
-
LIsa, is that a pink ibis? Mum, we have the spoonbills here. I love them. We also have woodstorks. Man, they are really ugly.
-
It's kinda like God had interns working for him some days......
-
LOL Barbe

-
I love owls they are such mysterious creatures and so beautiful. Snowy Owl
-
a Hawk Owl
-
Here is another one
-
Love the owls.
This looks more like a picture from the underworld than a stormy sunset on our beautiful beach.
-
Mum, we saw spoonbills outside the condo where we stayed in FL. I, of course, thought it was a flamingo. Several of us did actually. Then Terricarolyn had to burst our bubble and point out that it wasn't nearly as tall, and wrong kind of water, etc. etc. In most most mature voice, I said loudly "I don't care...I'm calling it a flamingo" (Can you see me stamping my feet while I said it??) LOL
-
well, here it is Marl...but very out of focus, remember how far away it was..
-
LOL at the "flamingo-gate" controversy.
I can't get over these feathered-friends shots.
Barbe. LUV'd your comment about the interns! Seriously made me laugh out loud! Actually. Perhaps it was a committee of angels with a sense of humor? Too funny. And the details.
We are back in Orlando for this 'new-to-me' conference. I have two workshops, but I just now noticed in the official final program that it says my workshop on T is for elementary & JUNIOR High! And it does NOT mention being appropriate for Prek + K. This is the worst possible sort of error obviously. Shaking my head in total frustration over this one. By the time I announce that this is NOT appropriate for JR. High, I may be standing in an emptry room talking to myself.
For Pete's sake. Ya win some --- ya lose some. This one might as well be rained out, I'm afraid. Maybe we can have them make an announcement?!?!
Thanks for all the pics, team. I can't believe you were all down here & I missed ya. I am STILL coughing. Has it really been two weeks? That's a LOT of coughing. GLUNK>
-
I've learned how to make little hearts for Facebook. Wondered if it would work here?
Not so much. LUV all ya'all!!!!

♥ Faith, were you using a regular keyboard when you tried the heart? I can't do on laptop, only on desktop keyboard. Hope the snafu works out well, and gives you the core of a funny story to tell later
Lisa - I forgot that the was the day you were with us!!! My pic of pinkie is only recognizable to me for the zoom factor.
Have a good week ladies. I just don't seem to get the time in here during the week that I'd like. Especially with it being dark earlier. Hugs sistahs.
