Mary, LOVE the sand writing!
-
-
Chrissy, I just love that beach..and no people..wow
no one would see how badly I look in a bathing suit
-
Lisa speaks for me too!
-
Beautiful, Chrissy. DH and I were all alone at the pool today except for this guy. Sorry the quality is grainy. I was using my cellphone and the crummy zoom on it.
-
I am ready for the weekend...I was just trying to see if I could copy
a photo from face book..it worked
-
No Ibis here, only hummingbirds, Barbara..it would be kinda nice to see one here
-
I LOVE hummingbirds!
-
The hummingbirds are so cute and fly right over me when I am floating in my pool..
-
At the front of the deck there is a rose bush the hummingbirds love. If you stand right above the bush they fly up and hover about 3 inches in front of your face and stare you in the eye. That beak is scary when they do that.
-
We have hummingbirds at our trailer - when we have the feeder going there's an alpha bird that perches in a branch overhead and dive bombs any other hummers that come to the feeder! We named him perchy
-
Oh boo, I can't have any bird feeders because we have a neighborhood bear. I love watching the birds eat and nest and pair up togeTHer. It is such a wonder to watch. Here in Washington the birds are all up in the trees and I only get to see them zoom by.
I do get to look at beautiful trees every single day so that is a benefit. I also have profound quiet here. So those two things are part of my beach. Oh, there is also the mountains, I can see mountains no matter which way I am going. The very best part though is having a 9 month old granddaughter 30 minutes away, who thinks I am wonderful!
Love GInger
-
Ginger, that sounds lovely. im from the land of sand and sea; but grew up with the Blue Hills..not really mountains, but we thought THEN they were.. more like big hills... 3jays
-
Oh Ginger, a grandchild is heavenly. Maybe one day...

Our dd is celebrating her 1st anniv'y this weekend. It was one of the best weeks of my life. To newbies, they got married in Key West and it was a 5 day party that I raved about for a long time!!
-
Marlegal, congratulations for your DD. Hope you're enjoying the beach get away.
-
thanks samsue...we came home today to miss the crowds! had been there since Wednesday, so had a nice long time.
-
Mariegal, You're up late too... I'm feeling like I'm staying up late on a school night and getting away with it.
Guess I should head to bed... Glad you had a fun time!
-
yup, taking advantage of not having to get up at 5:40 (our normal alarm time) ... i can only sleep 7 or 7.5 hours though and do NOT want to be up early for anything, so staying up a little later to guarantee I'll sleep till 8 or so... have a good night
-
hey, Mary, I remember that...
-
I have to catch up with everyone I have been sick in bed all weekend with a virus that has moved to my chest. Will head to the GP today to see if i need any anitbiotics.Have to be in good shape for this upcomming wedding.Keep looking at this list of things I have to do and panicing. Two weeks left.

Love the flags on the beach image, Chabba.
Thanks for finding that one for us!!!
With our son-in-law home safely from Iraq earlier this month, today seems like an upbeat day for our family. I pause when I think of the many who mourn today and I say a prayer for all in harms way at this time.

I'm finally getting some spring pictures posted to my blog.
These are from a trip to Titusville FL, earlier this spring:
Someone had scooped up a little friend in her hat:
Everybody have a beachie-bright day -- where ever you are!!
-
Here's the link to a truly amazing story, unfolding on my blog.
A kindergarten teacher I'd met this spring had previously served in the Army & herself been stationed in Iraq for a year. She fell in love with my new patriotic picture book and has been having her kindergartners make a 'quilt' in reference to my illustrations (quilted.)
http://rainbowswithinreach.blogspot.com/search/label/Carie%27s%20Kindergarten
It's truly a labor-of-love and just in time for Memorial Day.
Here's the concluding photo:
Their quilt is currently 6' by 12' and continues to grow!!!!!
Just goes to show you that we inspire each other.
That's the way I feel here at the beach, whenever I see the photos that others have taken or share thru their searching efforts. It's the way I feel when I get to look over the shoulder's of our accomplished photographers here. It's the way I feel when I read the late night conversations between our owls. It's the way I feel when I read the support expressed from one beachie to another. We do indeed inspire one another!
Ever onward friends.
Ever onward.

faith, first of all, our thanks to your sil, as ever. I'm so glad he's home this Memorial Day with his peeps. second of all, the quilt shot and story are awesome!!! lastly, again you captured such on target feelings with your muse on what this site, and especially this thread, are all about. thanks for putting it so eloquently for all of us.
hugs beachettes
p.s. I posted my pic on other threads (where I wrote in the sand HI BCO BEACHETTES and had several people ask me what that last word meant - I was happy to advise of this thread and how that's our name for each other. educating and sharing pics at the same time - good stuff
-
way to go Mary
-
Oh, and my picture for the day, fittingly, is a tribute to my dd and my awesome sil, in honor of their first anniversary - today. This pic was taken in Key West at sunset the day before their wedding. They're celebrating in Bar Harbor this weekend (a stop on the cruise the four of us took 2 yrs ago). Love them to bits.
