Beachies.........The couple of amazing pictures above, of the light filtering thru the trees & the clouds, reminded me of a picture I took a couple of years ago...... which I have no idea where it is in my computer???? Lisa & Mum how do you keep pictures 'organized'??????
Anyhow. I woke up determined to find it 'again.' I knew that at some point I'd posted it on this thread, so I thought I'd go back and dig around. That was an amazing experience....... I learned that I first posted on this thread on page 5. Several of those early posters who were so active & conversant are now angels. Seeing their posts this morning was other-world-ly.
I then had an insight. PHOTOBUCKET!! So I hopped over there. I only have 803 images in that spot,..... and I knew that it was one of the first. Voila.
So I took this photo in Feb. In Florida.
Mar...... this will be most meaningful to you. Beachies. Mar & I first met in the chat function of BCO, where I was first addicted. To make a very long story condensed...... there was a chatter that went by CTG. She was brilliant. She was beautiful. She was an authority on all things BC. She was everyone's friend. She was young. Then she declined. Then she died. Then shortly there after we happened to be in FL and happened to be in the same town where she'd lived....... we made arrangements to go out to dinner with CTG's husband. As I remember, it was 3 weeks after her funeral..... with fellow chatter 'pgig' or something like that. Where is she these days, I wonder?
Anyhow. That morning of our dinner, I woke in the midst of crazy pre-dawn hot-flash...... and got up and went down to the Ft. Lauderdale beach with my new-to-me-camera.
You 'ol timers may remember me posting it at some point, but I thought it bears repeating for the new-comers, for the old-timers, for the lurkers ** wink/wink, for the 10th anniversary of BCO, for the approach of our 600 page party, for all of the angels of this thread: AlaskaDeb, Luv2CampAmy, Toyful and my dearest Saint, who are the four that come to my mind as 'beachie-angels' and CTG who I believe orchestrated the picture in the first place.
Anyhow. Here it is. I still don't have photo-shop or any such thing as that..... so this is the unaltered version.......... tho my computer does allow me to adjust for the horizon & no doubt I did do that way-back-when.
Hope.
Hope.
Hope.
Hope.
Hope.

After CTG left earth, there was a group that got T-shirts in her honor. They say:
Cancer
Takes
Guts
I happened across the shirt the other day, too.
Her initials actually stood for: Clinical Trial Girl.
From the early beach journey.

Beautiful!
-
Faith, your photo brought tears to my eyes. Let me believe it was a sunrise.
-
Love the photo Faith it almost looks like a cross in the sky.You just never know what your camera will capture.
-
Hey only 3 more pages to our party.I am ready.
Well it is a beach party.
-
Wow Faith ... that was a story from the way back machine for sure
CTG and I joined chat around the same time, and I was doing a clinical trial for my chemo so I looked to her for inspiration and boy did I get it. That picture is unbelievable - I'm sooo glad you found it
Okay, time for me to get ready for my party tonight!!! I'm meeting my "date" at the hotel for us to get ready there - we're staying in town for the night in case I hadn't mentioned that part before. Talk to you sometime tomorrow kids
-
Yes. It was the sunrise over the Atlantic/Pompono Beach FL.
Yes. I see a cross/hope/resurrection dawning.
When I took the picture I didn't see the 'cross-effect'........ it was only later when I down loaded the image that it 'appeared' on the computer screen.

Here are some pix to get us into the holiday spirit (and closer to page 600). This is last year's Boat Parade.
-
On a dark and rainy day like today I like to look at summer pictures. I found these from last years kite festival. Not the sunniest of days but cheerful. And yes, this is a resort town with more tourists than residents most of the time.
-
Bobby, love kites! We have a kite fest in February and I can see them from my porch and patio. I will be sure to get some good pix this year for all the beachies!
-
I love the kites too. On our anniversary Dh and I sat on a beach and watched several guys flying fancy kites. It was very relaxing, and amazing the control these guys had.
-
Here is another scarey photo for Halloween.
-
Barbara & Meece - The people that run our local kite shop have held the international kite championship several times. They always attract some real quality teams for our local festival - old friends from the tour and all you know. Our local festival is just for fun, not tournament level competition as far as I know. Kites are very popular and a good tourist draw in this area. Every summer there are at least two and sometimes three within a 50 or 60 mile stretch of beach.

Meece
Glad to see Jack enjoy the beach too.
-
Who doesn't?
-
Mum - that's one bad ass looking bird; the kind Tippi Hedren probably had nightmares about for years!
-
We have red-winged blackbirds around here. They look a lot more calm than that bird.
-
Thanks for the sand Konakat, Faith!

I was going to post that pic when I Googled it a few hours ago, but when I checked out the website for the picture....it was right here!
-
Just Fantasizing Outloud.........
-
That does look like a fantasy!
-
All you need now is a Jock O'Lantern I mean Jack O'Lantern. No... I really meant Jock!

Here's another 'flashback' -- from my FB collection of "Cure" hat photos.
