Cute kitty hugs:) Arnie...you get the prize for best pics!!
Faithie---I just looked at your blog and I cannot BELIEVE the art work of those kids!!!! I want to buy one. SERIOUSLY!! There are some serious artists in those schools:) Just think, when they become famous you can say, "I knew them when......"

Children hve so much talent and insight its amazing. My son was one of those doodlers thru school, homework, work sheets, tests, garbage cans, his arm... anything and everything. Could always tell what kind of a day he had had by the doodles. But because he did not follow along the traditional art class lessons kinda struggled. Too bad the learned "educators" didn't stop to really look at him and his drawings...might not like the style or understand it but they were good, lots of talent and creativity in there. We are having the last laugh now because he is finishing his 3rd yr at Savannah College of Art & Design...one of the best in the country. Such a shame that so often kids imagination, creativity and curiosity is limited and not encouraged.

Coonie..... the art in the elementary yesterday was truly stellar. Glad that you enjoyed it -- I sure did.
Sharon...... I certainly do miss you.
Arnie......... sending you strength. I am always so tickled by the pics that you 'find' and share.
Julz............bet you're up to your ears in boys and boy fun.
Footie.........lemonade all around, we're toasting to your well being.
Dream........how are you doing today? Have you been able to write much, lately??
I'm always so tickled to come on and find the great photos that folks have added.
WB took a very hard fall several weeks ago & the dentist confirmed what we'd surmised: he's gonna 'lose' his top, front tooth. The nerve apparently broke in the fall and the tooth is in the process of saying good by. I spent the morning w/da babeez so the dentist mission could get accomplished.
Car is packed for convention departure. Now to refuel my head. LOL.
Sending out hugs to all beach-combers, past and present.

EWB..........
You need to write that book...... from a parent's perspective, of what educators do to children's creativity. As a former elementary & junior high art teacher that was always my soap box.
Schools can pigeon hole children, leaving them boxed in.....
oh, don't get me started.
Congrats on your son's pursuing his dreams -- even without the support of teachers/system.
We've spent several lovely days in and around the Savannah College of Art & Design. I LOVE their bookstore!! It's inspirational -- just to shop, there. We go every time we spend a week @ Hilton Head. Makes for a lovely day's outing.
Hope that you're feeling hopeful today.

Don't get me started! We had hard time w/ds thru out school. Very bright, creative, honest, bought into the whole respect others and authority thing, the teachers are there to help and protect the students thing...yeah didn't happen for him.
Now kinda dreading the summer, dh thinks ds should know exactly what he wants to to with his life and how he will make a living so on and so forth. Sigh, ds is wonderful but not always in the world of his father, much more laid back, gets there in his own time.. Dh sends conflicting messages; they don't really get each other. I am in the middle. Sigh. Dh had tough time growing up and had to grow up fast, has always known what he would do (since 5 yrs old). Really hard to measure others by his standard.

Oh good Arnie.........half way through is better than just starting. Are you going to do Taxol, or have you already? I get everybody's treatment schedule confused. Sorry! The tiredness is the worse part!!! So sorry!!!!
-
It's ok... no my next treatment will be Taxotere x 4. I got to stop reading the thread's on Taxotere... a bit anxious about it...but will talk to Onc. Try not to look too far ahead... try to live day by day... I wonder what the difference between Taxol and Taxotere is? hmmm
-
I'm not sure what the difference is. You know, I didn't join these threads until AFTER my treatment. For some reason, I didn't want to read ANYTHING about cancer. My DH did all the reading. I do remember my first Taxol was the hardest. My blood counts dropped pretty low, so be sure and keep a watch on those and stay away from crowds.
-
Oh Debbie- with every thing that we have going on, you'd think watching after medical people wouldn't be one ofthem. Good luck getting everything straightened out. Hugs
Arnie- hang in there. You can get thru this cause you've got your girls and we got your back. Anything you need dear one, just whistle.
Hope every one has a good day
Elaine
