Mary-Lou, thank you so much for all the lighthouse pictures, they made me miss wings, she does love lighthouses. Got my pm and thanks. I will get back with you in a bit. So very sorry about all the layoffs, can you draw unemployment until you find something else? We went through something like this and made it out ok, my husbands tire plant shut down and moved overseas. we were devastated for a while but it all worked out. I pray things will work out for you too.
Checkum, I agree, the only place to be is walking with our savior, letting his light shine through us and turning all of our problems over to him and do the best we can. He does have a plan, a much bigger picture. I am going to pm you some stuff that might make your mastectomy easier, it did me.
Jaz, you are one of the kindest people with a huge heart and I am so proud to call you my friend and I am going to learn to crochet if it takes me a year. Do you do blocks or one great big blanket. Is it multi color?
I had a friend make me a quilt and all the white squares were signed by co workers in permanent magic marker and I will treasure it forever. love it.
Lets have a little sunshine on the beach today.

Beachies, Beachies, Beachies!!!
Did you hear that HUGE sigh a few minutes ago? It's probably still rippling thru the galaxy.
I DID it!! This week of all week's!! Today was a massive success..... my first time ever in downtown Houston. I got in yesterday about noon & gave myself the treat of all treats: I took the metro-rail to their museum district.
I had enough time to go to the Houston Museum of Fine Arts and also their American Craft Consortium & Exhibition. I might start crying if I tell you what a wonderful day it was. They had all of the 'big names': Picasso, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Jackson Pollock and on and on and on.
They had several Cassat pieces that are always favorites. And Modigliani and Chagall...... Celia, I so wish we could have gone together. It's truly an outstanding collection.
There was a MASSIVE sculpture by Louise Nevelson that was over-powering in it's majesty. I wasn't allowed to photograph it tho. Which was strange because you were allowed to photograph the masters/impressionists.
I also LOVE the collection of African artifacts: carvings, masks etc etc. HUGE collection. Outstanding in every dimension.
So anyhow, I'm reading back over the day I missed here. I think that it's great to have a "list". Iris was always so good at keeping us organized. I so miss her being the room-mother!
I'd like to also add our own FootieDebbieAngel, as she has so very many issues & challenges in front of her -- and is basically on her own -- with no family support near by. I'm glad that you thought of Dream, too. Our Amy hasn't been to the beach in a long time, but I think she'd appreciate prayers.... there have been times where she's been able to be 'active' here.
That's all my foggy brain can recall at the moment.
Welcome, "HopeforaCure"..... we need to find you some special flip flops. I'll go look right now!
-
"Hoping" I don't if you've heard, but I adore polka dots!! Here's your first pair, to join us in the beach journey together.
Your popping in, to keep us focused, makes me realize anew -- that there are many who 'read' here and for whatever reason, have not yet posted, or perhaps post infrequently.
As we make our "list" I think we should always have a prayer for all of our sisters who read here and have issues that they may not be comfortable sharing in such a public format.
In any case, "Hoping" I hope that you feel welcome to return often and join in our nonsense, our friendship, our caring and our fun.
-
Jasmine,
My daughter came home from school today and the first thing she did was pick up that afgan and say "THIS IS SOOOO COOOL" then she told me she forgot her quilt and could she borrow it... LOL....
Spar - it is colorful & beautiful! And yes, our Jasmine is one with a big heart!
-
Checkum, I knew I should have installed lojack on in it before I sent it. You're just going to have to check her luggage before she goes back to school.
-
-
Faith, glad your week went smoothly. I know there will much giggles and hugs and kisses when you see those grandkids tomorrow.
checkum, Jaz, let me see a picture of it and it is gorgous. I am going to try to learn how to make blocks so I can help her.
Faith also makes boas for our sisters here, I have sent her 2 boxes of ribbons and hope others do to so we can have some more of them.
Jaz, you are one smart cool lady and you make the beach way more joyful.
sunset on the beach.

R I P Sweet AlaskaDeb...........our thoughts, hearts and prayers are with your family
during this difficult time.
-
colorful beach, just like all of us
-
Picture all these stars are all of our angels who have gone on ahead of us to experience the joys of being with our Lord.
-
A rose for all my beach buddies. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Yes Checkum....I'm still doing great...so glad to see you came out today:)
I have your date branded on my brain. I'm gonna be sending up some extra prayers
for you that day!!! I know you'll be glad to get that behind you.
Sharon--I'm feeling your sadness
It's so hard to see another sister pass away...
just not fair....I'm gonna start researching some cute animal pics that will make us smile.. Or........I could send you the treadmill pic again
Faith would put me in time-out, so I better not. Faith, I'm so glad you've had a great trip.
Do you get to go home and see the wee ones soon? I'm sure they're missing you!!
AlwaysHope--that was so thoughtful of you to think of our checkum. What a kind gesture!! Your reward will be great some day and others will do BACK unto you what you have done to them
Footie--hope you're making it ok today. Hope it's not too cold. I saw there was an earthquake in Washingtom somewhere...........were you close? Update us when you feel like it, ok?
Spar, I thought I had the only lazy wiener dog!!!!! If I knew how to download pics to the computer, I have some that looks exactly like your dog laying in front of the fireplace, ears flapped bag, and just daring anybody to make him move.
Good night beachies........sweet dreams....prayers for AlaskaDeb's family as they had her "homegoing" service today. I'm sure things will be different for months, maybe years go come.

We've got to stick together. You never know when someone may need something
We can just lean on each other.

I just got those amazing masterpieces added to my blog/journal -- if anyone wants to peek over my shoulder at the raw talent of others.
Thanks for everyone's prayers for travel mercies. I'm headed home by way of a layover in Chicago. So I need a few more wishes and prayers -- to get to my babeez & WB! They will pick me up at the airport, and since DH is still in the FL sunshine, I'll probably spend much of the upcoming week at their house. (In between my school visits of course. LOL.)
Sleep well my beachies.

Mary Lou....
Here is a reading today that I thought was good... (It is from Mathew 6:19-34)
Do Not Worry
25 ‘Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink,or what you will drink');" onmouseout="return nd();">* or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life?add one cubit to your height');" onmouseout="return nd();">* 28And why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, 29yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. 30But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you-you of little faith? 31Therefore do not worry, saying, "What will we eat?" or "What will we drink?" or "What will we wear?" 32For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33But strive first for the kingdom of Godof God');" onmouseout="return nd();">* and hisits');" onmouseout="return nd();">* righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
34 ‘So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough
