LIFE'S A BEACH!

Don't anyone leave, please. We have enough losses already. I don't post often but enjoy all of your company, your music, photos and art. It's a pleasant and supportive diversion from my darker thoughts.
I've been busy making place cards for the reception and figuring out who should sit where. It gave me great satisfaction to do the invitations myself. I don't know what I would have done if I were working. One day I'll figure out how to post px so you all can see my grandchildren, me and my husband and some of my art work. The sand sculptures fascinate me. What a lot of work and talent to be wiped away so quickly by the shore - a life lesson I guess.
See you on the beach tomorrow. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
-
Beachie kids---came to say good nite & sweet dreams.
Jas---THANK YOU for your pix! LOTS of hours went into those works of art! I, too have given away most everything I made. DD is going to help me take more pix & download this weekend so I will be back with more!---Please don't say your work is boring! If yours is,then what is mine????? LOL I think a big part of being artsy-fartsy is finding the joy other's have in making their stuff!
Shrink---you need to learn to post pix so you can share what you love with us! If I can do it ANYONE can!! LOLOL but be careful-it gets addicting!!
Celia--have you read the poem that the red hat society adopted? I can find it if you haven't, but seems to me you are ahead of the curve on this sort of thing. If you have read it you will understand that my calling you a "crone" is the ultimate compliment! Wisdom is worth seeking & always a goal! Love ya-HUGS
Foots-you are an inspiration & I am so glad to have the chance to get to know you better.
Julz--we new kids gotta stick together--what kinda troubles do you think we can stir up?? Like initiation-only in reverse--they get the tricks from us!
Harley-welcome & hugs----glad you have found your way here, too. Any ideas for new-kid-pranks? Should we toilet paper the beach cabanas tonite??
Lisa-missing the wonderful lens you see the world thru & share with us! Looking forward to lots of pix when you come back & catch up!
Sahalie-Hope the heat has abated & the oysters are a sensation!
Spar--need your help building our sand duck statue LOL Come bring your expertise to it!!
Faith-missing your rainbows.......... bring them out with your smile!! LOVE & miss YOU !!!
Hugs to anyone I have missed. I have SUCH a hard time remembering everyone & all the posts I want to respond to----let me tag along as the chemobrain you will tolerate....
Tonite's pic is at a nearby mill that ppl are working at restoring. It was a field trip with photo class a few years ago.
-
OK - Here goes my first try with Photobucket. Here I am at the beach in Marco Island, Florida.
It was so windy that day I could barely keep my eyes open.
-
Sahalie and Spar
Here is a pattern for our duck sand art.
Shrink, you are beautiful and look really happy on that beach. What white sand!
Jaz, I am in awe of your talent of cross stitch, beautiful pictures. Especially love the one for the kitchen. Thank you for all your love and kindness
Foots, hope you are doing well, thank you for all you do
Julz, the jewel of the beach. Thank you for being my friend and I will meet you someday in person.
Sige, bring us some of your glorious pictures you find. You bring much beauty to the beach.
Celia, I did so enjoy your bling blings, that was fun. I love all your beach finds
Lisa so ready for you to be back and post your glorious pictures
Faith, hope all is well with you sarah. Missing your energy and spirit.
Biker and Wings, are you guys off traveling with the wind.
Saint, you have turned pro on posting pictures. Love what you bring to the board
Harley, hope you keep posting and hope you are feeling much better.
Love and Hugs from A to Z. Getting ready to go to church, then to walmart, then out to eat and then take grandson home so it will be a while before I can post again today.
-
Wow. I leave for one little trip and come back to find........ how to describe it? A pillow fight? Cabana boys running undies up the flagpole? Jellyfish on the beach??
I live in my own little la-la-land and am completely clueless and will work VERY hard to remain so. LOL.
How happy I am to see daisies of hope littering our beach. I declare it DAISY DAY!!
Wait till you see all the pics I've taken for you friends!! But first I must go pick some daisies......
-
-
Well you knew I couldn't resist this one, how well you're getting to know me:
-
-
Daisies of friendship for one and all!! For those who come to frolic here on the beach, filling your senses with possibilities and dreams. May we all take a deep breath and celebrate that we are becoming more and more real to one another.
In honor of our first beachie dust-up, I feel so filled with hope that we have overcome what can detract from creativity.
May we long remember to cherish each other, as our time together here is the only unknown in the equation.
-
While you're all out gathering daisies and making daisy chains...... I thought I'd share some "woodies" at the shore from yesterday's festival:
-
Well, what kind of "woodies" did you think I'd photograph??
-
And here's my personal choice for the boat with the most happy going on:
-
This is a very rare, still fully functioning "aquacar"........... you should have heard the crowd's reaction when it drove down the ramp and right into the water!! Perhaps I can get the owners to loan it to us for an afternoon of nonsense on the beach? I'll drive around and pick everyone up..... so get your sunscreen on!
Edited to correct myself: it's not an aquacar, it's an amphicar..... silly me. Pretty slick.
-
hi beachies!
first, i have daisies for lovely faith and then a picture of our beach with all of its innocence and sweetness.
I hope everyone is here today because i would miss any of you that didn't show up. I am so happy to see faith and sahalie and shrink. I look forward to seeing spar, julz, sige, jasmine, saint, socal lisa, wings, footie, bikerjan, margaret........(memory now cutting out)....and all else from the beach, including a fleeting Angel.
edited to add: i see that spar is already here and i am very happy!!
shrink, you are absolutely a beautiful blushing bride!! and there you are on the beach. great job with photobucket and thank you for posting your pic.
today we reflect and meditate on our friendships.
.
-
LOVE the aquacar!!!!!!
faith, when you said "woody" i thought for sure you meant.....
-
- There were LOTS of those woodies, too:
-
Hey! I found a Woody too....
-
Jasmine...... the saddest thing about coming on the beach this morning, was that NONE of your cross stitch pictures "load" (are viewable) on my computer. I just now came on DH's thinking maybe his stronger, better faster machine would upload them. Alas.
And others have obviously been able to 'see' and admire. What's up with that?
Would you be willing to send me an email with them attatched? I'm really pouting and feeling left out of celebrating your creativity. If it's too big a headache to send, I understand..... or maybe you have a tech-fix for me?
thanks!!
here's to all the Woodies on the beach. (tee hee and blushing slightly)
-
Sunny daisy days beachie kids!
I am happy to see all the kids who came to play: Spar, F&F, Celia & Lovely beachie shrink! (shrink--yeah-you did it LOL!) Olly Olly Oxen free sahalie, jas, julz, foots, wings, biker et al! I feel a tighter group evolving in the daisy chain of friendships.
I feel I need to do something wild. Wish I could go skydiving again!!! You all have a wonderful day.
Be well & stay strong
this IS really me!!!!..about 6 weeks after my mets dx..
-
Daisy's & woodies
on the beach today! It's good to see sunshining fun is back on our beach! Just stopped by to wave to all my friends here as I am off for DJing again. Long busy weekend, with a get together around a campfire at the campground tonight with friends.
So from A To Z's & everyone in between! Much Love to All for healing hearts.......Julee
**This song is for & about me today, but for all to enjoy**
-
What beautiful pictures of daisy's from everyone, that is one of my favorite flowers because it is such a simple beauty. The morning glory is another of my favorites.
-
I took this picture this morning of the morning glory
Am so worried about anyone on the gulf coast.
Saint, I am impressed, that looks like so much fun. Hope to get to try it someday.
Celia, wow to that picture of the lady with daisy eyes
Always, I love your woody, use to watch that cartoon as a kid.
Saint, the windmill picture is a beauty so much character
Foots, got your pm but don't know what word you are talking about, I will check the humor board in a minute and see if its there. Hope all is good with you and getting better all the time.
This is the only automobile I have rode in that goes on the road and drives in the water but Faith's car is much more beautiful. Love you all, Thanks.
-
lots of friendlies on the beach today....
friendly lady on interesting bench...
another flower (? looks flowerish) to add to the others....
-
Wow, I wonder what that is, was there not a name under it? I collected all my sticks and put them on the table on the porch and came in the house, next time I went outside all my sticks were gone. I came back in griping because all my sticks were gone and I knew the dog didn't carry them all off. My husband said I thought you put them there for me to get rid of and threw them away. So out I went to get more and am still going to try it. Got the glue gun out and several wax sticks for it and hope to try it tomorrow. Need to find a sunset for the evening
Jaz, it is nearly time for big brother!!!!!!!!!!!
-
spar, the photo didn't say what it was. i thought it was a bromeliad plant or an aloe plant, and photographed with a filter or a cameo circle cut out with some light stuff happening thru the cameo hole. It is fun to try to figure stuff out.
spar, i think it is neat that you were inspired by the driftwood heart. I think you need some short curved ones for the outline of the heart and then you just fill in the outline with all the other sticks. It would look beautiful on the wall. That is so funny about your hubby throwing your sticks out!!!! My hubby would ignore them totally. I can't wait to see a pic of your project!! You could even add in some beach glass too.
-
Hey beachie-keenos.........
i was just taking a break from getting my little studio space organized and took a trip over to my brand new "Facebook" account. i attempted navigating on my own and found the Komen "group" on the site. they have a goal of getting 100,000 facebook members by the end of the year -- they're merely short about 95,000 at this point.
i think it would be great for everyone here to get into that group!! or tell others (your kids who are probably already addicted there anyway.)
look at the quilt that i found there:
it reminds me of the 'blessing scarf' we put together for saint............
edited to add that it was made by a quilt artist in or for the Denver affiliate..... i'll go see if i can find out who exactly.....
back with the name of the quilt artist: Vinda Robison, it was used as a fundraiser in 2004. AWESOME!! i think maybe those are 'morning glories' in the foreground??
-
Faith What a work of beauty.
Celia, that is great idea about the sea glass and I may try that if it works out.
I found all kinds on the beach today.
Where is Sahalie, we need our social director. I am ready to play a game or do a scavenger hunt again, that was fun.
-
spar here are some more driftwood hearts for you--
i think some sparkles of sea glass would bring it to life!!!!
happy creativity, spar!!
-
saint,
Yes, we should t. p. the cabana! lol
spar,
Hi. I hope you are feeling fine today!!
Hope everyone is enjoying nice beachy weather today.Hugs
Harley
-
Oh Celia, now I am feeling intemidated by all the beauty in the above pictures!!!!
Hey, Harley I am good, hope you are better. I love rain but am hoping it don't rain for a couple of weeks due to foundation on new house and septic tank and all the good other stuff that goes along with moving a house to your land.
I would really like to just sit on the beach with an icy light beer in my hand and some honeymustard pretzels in my baggie to munch on.
But I don't want to get this
