Spar, your poor little ducky!!! You can't trust dogs around any kind of "prey" animal.
I've had a busy family type weekend, and I'll be back on Tuesday. Gotta work tomorrow, unfortunately. I hope everyone has had a great weekend.
-
Great pics, Celia!!!!!
-

Hi all! I was telling spar & you all that my DH does DJ-ing/Karaoke every weekend just about! Last night ended up being Karaoke. I just started singing recently, I finally got up the guts to sing. I sung in school choir, church choir & a church group called The Cross & Flame Singers when I was in Middle & High School. I even sung in Choir every year for the dedication of President Eisenhower Statue in front of Mamie Eisenhower. It's neat to have those memories! Loved it, but was to scared to do a solo. Well this year I finally got the guts to sing solo on Karaoke. I'm definitely not Maria or Carrie. But I know I am better than allot of the people that get up. The thing is to go out & have fun. Imagine everyone in there under ware! LOL! Well I'm kind of Anal about a song I sing. I gotta know it inside & out. So I only sing a few, but I am working on a new one for next week!
I sang this song last night & got alot of cheers! It's kind of addictive!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RTX6DxJ5G8
Next week I hope to have this song ready, I already know all the words almost!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eU1-OTobPis
I have no rhyme or reason to my songs only that I sound pretty good singing them. You can sing along with a song & then you try it by yourself. You just know you cann't do that one! LOL!
I have to go get ready for work & will catch up with you all tomorrow! Take a walk on our beach for me tonight! Love Julz!
-
I just saw a pic on a TV show tonight of Helen Mirren in a red two piece bathing suit - she looks awesome...something to strive for....
-
She was great in Calendar Girls!!

HI to all you lovely beach ladies,
Not much happened this weekend. DH and I drove to my sisters for dinner Saturday night, this is about an hour and a half each way from our house. It was great, she cooked peel and eat cajun shrimp that was out of this world as an appetizer. The niece and nephews were a riot. Alec just secured a spot on a traveling soccer team and is really excited. Can't wait for his games. Sunday was just a relaxing day. I tried to catch up on the posts and did not have enough time to say hi.
Spar sorry about your duck and am glad to hear he is doing better. The pictures are great. I really like the one w/ the H and W, that will be my H and me.
Sahalie - the picture of the dock is so peaceful looking, I can't wait to dive in. The lemonaide is sure to quench our thirst.
Footprintsangel - congrats on being a star. Hope things cool down for you.
Julz - the songs are great and I am sure you sing them perfectly.
Still trying to keep up with everyone. Hugs to all and have a wonderful beach day.
Cheryl

Heymoose, sound like you had a good weekend, if that wonderful shrimp was the appetizer, what ws the main course. I wanna come eat with them too. How old are your niece and nephews?
Sahalie, it finally is raining here and the duck just loves it, he struts around and shakes hisself and then just pecks at all the grass, he loves to peck at my herb garden and i just let him.
Foots, I am going to pm you
Julz, when do we get to hear YOU sing? Darn ole work gets in our way.
Lisa, are you staying home today or out running around doing physical things that make me so tired? Do we get some pictures today?
Biker, can't wait to hear about your family weekend
Hi, to Maragret, celia, Wings, Faith and anyone else I missed.
To all a good day.
-
I hear this woman of certain age, exercises everyday and keeps in great shape. I do admire her.
-
My hero supreme forever is this wonderful
lady who inspires me with her dedication. Love. And gentle manner.
JANE GOODALL
I've read everything she has written.
-
I didn't watch 60 mins. I stay away from those subjects.
Makes my stress radar shoot the moon.
Where's Jazzarinie?
XOXO.
-
It's after noon in E.S.T. (LOL)
We have a sudden invitation to lunch at a restaurant that's on the beach. People ride up on their ski-doos and have a bite.
I'm so appreciative of the "mature women" to offer inspiration. Thank you. Now we need to see them in their workout clothes.
Yesterday was a delightful adventure day that got better and better...... we took the motorcycle across the land to a lighthouse..... been here over 15 years span and never tracked down this lighthouse before yesterday????
gorgous. pictures later. just wanted you to know that all is well.

Hey there, Hie there, Ho there, beach buddies!
I just have a minute to visit. We have returned from the north country & things are getting back to "normal" (whatever that is!) I need to fly & restock our groceries, but took just a few minutes to scroll thru the FIVE pages created in my absence! NO time to read-but LOVE the pix....
Lisa--I travel vicariously thru the talents of ppl like you who have such a great perspective in your pix! THANX
Spar--Poor duckie, poor doggie, poor mama!!! Hope healing is happening---what is duck's name? (HAD to read that one when I saw the pic)
Faith-SO happy to hear that the tomatoes don't leave home without it!!! What a relief it was for me--can only imagine how much for you & dh tho he never let us see him sweat! (enough commercial tag lines! LOLOL) It was so wonderful to spend that time together--for your return trip we should set both our men up for a couple of days golfing so you & I can have another time! It made the trip even better!
BUSY week---humane society volunteering tomorrow, gourmet dinner with friends & scans all day Wed, more app'ts on Thurs & family game nite here- so I fear I can't leave my towel on the beach just yet! Send up some good prayer that these scans allow a longer chemo break--just not ready to face going back on the poison yet (tho I accept the inevitability of it----later rather than sooner is the request)
ALL be well & stay strong! HUGS, Saint
-
Lord, please give our saint clear scans and a much longer chemo break as in forever, Amen.
Saint, I know its not original or anything but we have always called him quacker, he has so many different kinds of quacks its unreal. So glad you and Faith had a good tiime together.
Celia, that sandcastle is beautiful, I wonder if they seal it somehow or if the wind will blow it away. Got to find out somehow. I have to know stuff or it drives me nuts.
Everyone have a great wonderful evening, will be back on later.
-

JULZ!! You're winning the women-of-maturity-health-and-wellness-photo-retrieval-award!!
It is inspiring to see mature gals who've "figured out" how to take good care of themselves.
Saint: so glad that you're home safe and sound. We will join together in our strength to see you thru scans -- whatever the outcome. I'll be praying for good news, you can bet. It was soooo great to spend time, bond and have so much fun.
Celia: you KNOW how to build a sandcastle!! Love your beach castle.
Sahalie: so happy to know that you were flexible enough to catapolt thru space safely. I did something like that years ago-- falling from a height while gardening. I still count that as one of my miracles.
Jasmine: what did you do with your weekend? start your watercolors?
FOOTIE!! What's this incredible news about you being our media queen?? I want to know a whole lot more. Tell us all of the details. Did you know ahead of time that you would be interviewed? I hope that your segment earned you some support -- that is measurable.
Sige: Haven't seen you for a bit. Hurry back and see if you can find me some mature friends.
Deborye: speaking of people that have gone m.i.a.......... it's time for you to upload your pics and share.
nEEsie: I still live delusionally that you might pop in one day and surprise us. bring Iris!!'
summer: did you lose our thread? it's so easy to do in the beginning.
Shrink: it's hard to have grands at a distance..... we have a pair that live in Denver and just get to see them a couple of times a year -- so hard. I'm missing our Buckeye babeez like crazies.
Margo: good to see you. I LOVED Calender Girls. It was awesome.
Lisa: glad to see that you have a sense of humor w/Spar's cartoon: LOL!!
Heymoose: so tickled to see ya hanging round and getting acquainted. Loved seeing you over at the prayer thread.
Spar: how awesome to live near water. I get such inspiration from seeing water -- whatever the size
angels flying over head..... please watch out for all who splash and read here at the beach
Winger Dinger: I've got a picture for you!!
-
Here's the BIG light, in the top of the house:
-
And the view:
-
AND the steps down. (Don't worry, they added a handrail in 1893)
BTW: this is the Cana Island Light House, Door County, northern WI.... watching over Lake Michigan.
-
Faith, beautiful pictures.
Julz, you do win the women of a certain age award. wow, makes me wanna quit eating (almost) and start exercising (almost)
This is gonna be me if I don't start getting more exercise
-
Here is a nice sunset for all of us.
-
Thank you all for your prayers----please add a friend's family; Barbara was the co-director at my childrens' daycare when they were little. She was dx'd with bc after I was then with mets at about the same time as I---I just learned she died Sat nite, peacefully. She left 2 dd's 16 & 8, many family members including her mom, her dh & innumerable friends. I admired her quiet strength. In all things she was an example of kindness & care. May the angels lead her into paradise......
