Oh Jill: so sorry about the mixed "bag"; sorry about the waiting game too.
We are here with you.

Jill
I'm sorry you have to have it done all over again! I'm praying that they get clean margins this second time. At least it is still DCIS and not IDC too.
Try to keep busy to keep your mind off of it.

Melissa
I sent you a private message with my email and phone number on it.
Lynne

Jill,
So sorry your margins weren't clean. The good news is that it doesn't look like any invasive disease. Hang in there, we're with you!

Deborye,
I can give you the name of a person in Chelmsford that said she would help you with the fundraising if you wanted some help. She raised $7000 last year when she walked in my honor! She is amazing...
Send me a pm if you want to try! I will help, too!

Hugs Jill

I just want to say hello to all my new New England friends from the luncheon last month.
I'm heading to Boston again this coming weekend to be on a crew to support the walkers in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. If you know anyone who is walking, tell them to look for me at Quick Stop B, the "Irish Pub" (each stop has a different theme) at about mile 8. Unfortunately the weather doesn't look too encouraging.
Don't forget, if you're passing through NY don't hesitate to give a shout out.
Peggy -
The weather up here has taken a turn this morning. Sunny and beautiful! I hope it's sunny an hour (with no traffic) south of here in Beantown! Hope you have a great weekend Peggy!

Just checking on all the girls that attended the New England/MA Get Together...
I know I am fine;
I saw Emelee26/Marisa and Barbara a weekend ago at her baby-shower... she is looking wonderful and about to tip over... LOL and other than that nothing else...
Jill are you here? What is going on?
drw: I keep your music thread going w/ my crazy likings...
Lynee?
LorenaB?
PegK: how was your Boston affair?
Girls?
-
Lilia..lol - my mom's name is Pat..not Barbara

-
I knew that... just making sure you were reading this... big LMAOL! She's Barb! She's Barb!
How many years has it been since I called her by her right name?!?!
-
Thanks for checking in, Lilia! I finished chemo 5 1/2 weeks ago and I'm feeling pretty good these days. Hair is coming in veerrry slooowwlly and I do not have any patience. I am scheduled for surgery on June 26th -- right mastectomy and a reduction on the other side (DDD to C cup).
Anyone up for another get-together in July or August? I will be doing radiation between late July and early September, so I don't expect to be going anywhere this summer.

i hope everyone is doing well. my mom and i are doing great. i finally get nipples next week. yea!
lilia, i've kinda been neglecting the music thread. i'm glad you're there to keep it up. i've been playing music and word games mostly on the humor and games category.

Hello, All!
I am fine, just having had a major scan and getting great results. So I continue to laugh and be happy and just love life.
I have a fellow board member who I am close to who has had very bad news lately, and I have been worried sick about her. It is like you split yourself in half- half is worried about her, the other half is worried about myself and how I would be if one of my scans came back like hers. This disease is so very cruel.
I second LorenaB's idea to meet again!
-
Hi Lilia,
Am still here. Had my 13th rad of 30 today. One of my techs today mentioned how red I am getting. Am fatigued, red, have new red freckles, have a quite warm to touch boob, and to top it all off, have a really really tender nipple. Any tug on the shirt is painful, as is any bump in the road the car goes over. Doc says it doesn't happen to many women, but unfortunately I happen to be one of them.
Thankfully, i am only working part time, I go to work from 10 to 2, have treatments at 2:30 (it is a 5 minute drive to Yale from work) and head home. I sleep from 9:00 to 5:30, go to the gym (most days), go to work, go to treatment. Now if i can get through the next 4 weeks or so. Really looking forward to July 16, that should be my last treatment.
So, that's where I am at this point. Thanks for asking!

Hi girls: just came back from a trouble flight back from NC! We missed our connection in NC due to bad weather (Charlotte grounded all flights in and out) and ended up sleeping on the floor of NC Airport which was FREEZING!!!!!!!! We all ended up w/ wrapped up w/ plastic bags to warm up! Bag people! I guess I don't have to say it but I never made it to work today... we got home passed 11 AM and basically slept all day... got out of bed at 4:45PM... LOL, oh my bed, how I missed it!
Other than that all is fine... I am seeing my PC tomorrow b/c before I took off to go south, I felt my right arm pit swollen and tender to the touch.... That is the side that I had the lymph nodes removed... but almost five years later and I have a "problem"?
Glad to hear that you girls are hanging in there! Leahrc... agree w/ you... this disease for some of us has been a "real cruel joke!" Feel so bad I can't do anything to help those less fortunate health wise than I am...
I am up for another Get Together... but I might go to SC the end of August for a week... still up in the air... may be beginning of August? What do you girls think?
By the way, I am gone for some days and I come back and the website I so grew attached to is completely changed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a difference! Even the BF said, UAUUUUUUUUUUUU!
-
I would be up for a get-together in early August. Anyone else?
Lauren
-
Hi everyone, I am still here too. Had my stage II from DIEP in May and have my stage III scheduled for 9/11. I'd love to get together again, early August works for me!
13 of us that had chemo together and are still active on this board are meeting in Las Vegas this Thursday..I am sooo excited!
Leah, I occassionally read your chemo thread and am am so sorry to hear about your friend. This disease sucks!
-
Lynn: up to organizing a get together your way? I was there about two weekends ago... first we had dinner in Easthampton then we went your way... nice evening!
-
HI everyone!
Lauren, I'm glad you are starting to feel better again.
Jill, I've been wondering how you're doing. I had the same problem with my nipple being extra sensitive. It even peeled (as well as the rest of my breast). It's still 2 shades lighter than the other one 3 years later. You must be done now. I haven't been on here for awhile.
Has anyone heard from SweetMelissa? I meant to get their email or phone number before we left our luncheon. They are only about a half hour from me. So young with so much worry!
It's now the end of Aug. Maybe we should plan a get together for Sept?
Lynne
-
Hello girls:
I have not heard or seen SweetMelissa, than again I have been a little busy and not much here lately.
I am still up for another get together... anyone else? We had a really good time, didn't we?
-
Hi everyone! I'd definitely be up for another get-together. I finished rads last week, hurray! and I'm feeling pretty good these days. I've decided that everything in life is easier now that I have hair again.

Lauren
-
hi everyone-
it's been awhile since i've seen a posting here from anyone. how's everyone doing?
dianne -
I am still popping in occasionally. I'm doing really well and would love another get-together one of these days. I met with you ladies when I was at the beginning of my journey (one week after starting chemo) and it meant so much to me to be sitting around a table with others who had been through the same thing. Now I'm done with chemo, surgery and rads, and preparing myself for reconstruction -- and it would be great to see everyone again from the "other side." I don't think I'm up for organizing things myself right now -- too busy with work and my son now that I am feeling better -- but if anyone else wanted to take it on I'd be willing to help by emailing/calling people or whatever.
I hope you are all well.
Lauren
-
Hi everyone,
Hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and you're all doing well!
Lauren, glad to hear you are almost through with everything!
I check on here to see if anything is going on every once in awhile.
Have a great Christmas everyone!

Hey I just found this thread... NH gal here.
-
Mass gal here!
-
Hey there New England people. With all the sad news on here lately, I'm thinking that it would be good to connect with local bc "sisters." Is anyone up for another get-together one of these days?
I have surgery coming up on March 25 (DIEP reconstruction) so there will be a few weeks this spring when I'll be out of commission. But other than that I'd love to meet up somewhere. Anyone?
Lauren

sounds good to me--i would love to meet all you mass/ new england gals
