My best friend got clean bill of health after breast cancer 2 years ago.  Now she was diagnosed with breast cancer on the brain and more.  So she is a level 3/4.  Treatable not cureable.  She is doing great.  But she is alone and feels she wont ever meet anyone because she has no hair.  She feels she will die all alone.  She isnt negative about life she is fighting real hard and is positive.  But when it comes to being alone w/o a man or someone for her to take care of its hard.  I can joke with her about her hair and we smile.  We joke alot and it keeps her smileing.  But when it comes to being sad and alone I dont know what to say.  I have met women with terminal cancer that have met men and where happy till they passed.  But I cant seem to pull her out of this.  I wont lie I tell her positive stories but its sad to have my kids and my husband and see her so sad.  I need help.  It doesnt help that a family member is telling her that she wont find anyone because of her hair and that she is dying.  Well I just dont believe that.  I need help with this I feel she will have good and bad days but I think this is dragging her down to far.  Please help me help her.

Hi Jackson, what a good friend you are.  May I suggest you ask her to come on here and ck out some of our boards for singles and mets and stage 4's?  I think it would help her a lot to know that everyone is dying--and I mean the whole world, not just folks with cancer.  No one gets out alive.

As you have said, not curable, but treatable.  And her hair will come back and she will be alive when it does.  She will keep living for a long time and she needs to be talking to other women who have her diagnosis and who are LIVING their lives.

As I said you are a great friend and I hope you will let her know she is not alone and that there are other women she can talk to who know what she is going thru and can help her.

Thank you so much.  I have told her about this sight and about all of the positive people, and also people she can relate to.  I cant relate I can just offer my support.  I dont know how it is to loose all of your hair and then to have it grow back and then find out that there was a new spot on your brain mri.  And then to wait for the results and wait to see if your going to loose your hair again and start over.  I try to be there for her as much as possiable even when she yells that i dont understand.  I tell her your right I dont feel what you feel but when you hurt I hurt because our friendship is so strong.  I told her you can have a bad day and I love you but when you would like call me and I am here.
