Femara Withdrawal Anyone?

We were so happy when the onc told my wife she could go off of Femara but here we are 3 weeks out and a lot of the pain hasn't let up (although there are moments of feeling looser and not as creaky)and it seems the hormones are reeking havoc on her mood and outlook.  Anyone else been through this? Suggestions?

    Thanks

Well, you wrote this post three years ago.  I'm really interested in knowing how your wife is doing.  I find myself 3 weeks out just like your wife was when you wrote this.  I took Arimidex/Femara for six years, and my onc allowed me to stop when I began experiencing severe bone and joint pain.  Today has been weird with less "creaking" as you called it, but hormonal havoc also a good way of putting it.  I have had hot flashes all day--less bone pain--and nausea.  I'm disappointed there are not more posts about this.  I know that less than 30% of patients even make it the five years, much less getting to this withdrawal place.  I would love to hear from you and others.

    Thank you and God bless!

I made my five years and finished the femara the 5th of December. Pushing 3 months off now. I have noticed less hot flashes and less moodiness. Still have joint pain but I think the femara brought out arthritis in every joint and I am afraid some of that is permanent damage. My outlook seems to be getting better. My hair loss has slowed down also. Overall I am starting to notice feeling better I think other then the joint pains. Hugs and luck to you...
