I took HRT for about 8 years (doc recommended it for osteoporosis) and in Apr. 2005 a new GP said...yikes...you have been taking that stuff for far too long...the 2000 woman's health initiative...etc...and she told me to stop taking HRT. I was diagnosed with invasive lobular in May 2005...go figure...

My mom had ILC, took HRT  for menopausal symptoms, but I don't know how  many years she took it. Now I'm curious to find out---I always had a feeling taking it had something to do with her getting bc. The good news is that she is a 21 year survivor without any recurrences. (Had lumpectomy, rads and tamoxifen).

Took birth control for 10 years, HRT for 9 years, no cancer in family at all, mom took HRT into her 80s, I got ILC at 59.  I figured genes were good, but oncologist says 90% of cancer is not hereditary.  Also if you have dense breasts, it really ups your chances of getting bc.

I took birth control pills off and on for a few years in my 20's.  They gave me repeated yeast infections so I stopped.  With both my pregnancies I was given progesterone suppositories for the first couple of months as I was told my progesterone was low.  I keep wondering if that is what caused this as my PR % was much higher than my ER%.

I took birth control pills for 19 years, right up until the day I was dx.  I think that they helped cause my ILC.  I also drank beer and ate red meat.  I no longer do any of those things.
