I had a modified radical mastectomy on Dec. 14, 2007 with tram flap reconstruction. I have not so clear margins and am scheduled for second surgery on Thurs, January 17. I am a little nervous,but P.S. is not that concerned about flap. I just want it all over. You usually hear this with lumpectomy...but with mastectomy??? I thought this year might be better but let me tell you it has been hell! I got through my surgery on the 14th. The night before Xmas Eve a friend and co-worker was hit by a car and left in critical condition. She is now in a nursing home recuperating. Many broken bones...etc. She will live...thank God!!! My other friends husband... who is a retired fireman is suffering from effects of electrocution on the job 12 years ago. He has been in and out of hospital for the last couple weeks ...when low and behold a city fireman was electrocuted and killed on Jan. 6. My father is a retired fireman and my brother is a fireman/inspector so this is devastating to our city/family. The fire department is a brotherhood of man. Fireman have come for the funeral from all over. This man left behind a wife and teenage son. How sad! I just want to be a carefree kid again with my biggest concern being my hair on a Friday night.
