They can vary greatly depending on where they develop. You could have difficulty with speech, with walking or other fine motor skills. There could be memory problems, headaches, nausea, vomiting, loss of consiousness or seizures. Or you could have nothing at first.

If you have symptoms that are concerning to you talk with your oncologist about it and let them decide where to go next.  As someone else on these boards has said "We report, they decide".

I had headaches consistently for 2-3 weeks. Always tell your onc. I had a brain MRI.  Results were good.  Headaches were from the Herceptin.  If you're worried, get a scan. Hope it's covered.

    Take care,

bevnurse gave you a good idea of all the symptoms of brain mets.  But remember....some people don't have any when they are found. Since your asking about symptoms I will assume you have having a few problems that are worrying you.

I say when it doubt "check it out".  I am a stage IIIA with postive nodes and rather I am having problems or not...I PUSH and make sure I get my 6 month brain MRI.  Its the only way I can have peace of mind and not worry about it.  So if you have an oncologist that is the type that DOESN'T believe in ordering scans...all you have to do is say your really worried because your having TERRIBLE headaches.  The oncologist just need a reason for the insurance companies to ok the mri.  So I say go for it if your worried.  You don't need all that added stress if its nothing.  Hang in there.

ohmygosh:  Im always afraid of mets.  Every time I have symptoms I immediately think mets.  So does my husband.  I get alot of headaches sometimes and other times not at all.  Mostly I feel bad cause you sound scared in your post and I hope that you are ok.
