How long to wait?

Hi all, Ive been reading the threads on this board for a while now and while Im not sure i can say the words out loud I need to talk to someone.
Just before Christmas I found a huge mass in my left breast about the size of a small bar of soap. I know it wasnt there the week before. Within days it was tender and painful to sleep. Of course I had been poking and squeezing trying to figure it out. A week later I went to the gyno who immediately sent me for an ultrasound. Everyone is asking me if I have hit or hurt my boob in anyway. No unless hubby got carried away in the heat of the moment I didnt notice. So the doc comes back with mass probably infection due to trauma and ultrasound folks say call a surgeon to be sure. Doc says we will take 2 weeks of anti botics and then call the surgeon. I go for my pap tomorrow but nothing is changing after a week. My nipple and areola are getting puckerd. Is still warm though not red. Sometimes it doesnt hurt but sometimes it realllllllllly does so I cant tell if the antibotics are working or not. I would think after a week I should have noticible difference.
Im trying really hard not to be paranoid but IBC keeps comming up to me on internet symptoms. My son is 17 so I cant imagine why I would have an infection. I dont think my sanity can last another week of waiting but biopsy scares me too. Is that too drastic? Hubby just want me to calm down and let the antibotics work but if they dont then Ive just wasted 2 weeks.
Thank you guys for listening.

Oh, I feel for you, and I know how you feel. It's your body, if you're scared, take charge and insist on a biopsy now-you have that right, and although you may be nervous about having one, knowing for sure whether or not you have breast cancer so you can get the appropriate treatment is always the best thing, and if it turns out to be negative, then you've got some serious celebrating to do! Either way, please let me know how you're doing. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi,
Hang in there and stay on top of your docs
It took me three months to be diagnosed!!!!!
You know your body! Go with your gut.
Feel free to write anytime.

My gyno took one look at my breast and said she was calling the surgeon so we can get rid of this thing right away. I go in tomorrow to get a biopsy or drainage. When I asked her about IBC she admitted she didnt know much about it but I am too young (37)and this is all so sudden so she was pretty hopeful. She said this tumor is too big and cancer doesnt change this quickly(whole breast is swollen now). That made me feel better all of 4 minutes before I remembered she said she didnt know squat about IBC.
I have no idea what will happen tomorrow. I can only pray. Thank you guys for listening.

Good luck tomorrow. Thoughts and prayers are with you, let us know how you make out.

Insist on a biopsy NOW! I can only tell you that my IBC changed drastically in a matter of weeks. My overall prognosis is not good, and the MDs say that I caught it early. If they find pus on a bx then God Bless you, but waiting is dangerous with IBC, it can make a difference with life and death, and mets.
