Off topic got my hair highlighted!

Hi,

I am 43 years old and I always colored my own hair.  I recently went to a salon and had them do a single color and then today I needed a haircut (I am actually attempting to grow it a bit longer).  Its been short for a long while.  I think it was some kind of mental reaction to the BC.  I was diagnosed 5 (now in 2008) going on 6 years ago.  Anyway I think I had it deep in my head that if I kept it short I was not tempting fate.  I would not lose my hair again.  I wouldnt pay to much attention to it.  My stylist has been talking me into letting it grow (its to the nape of my neck now) and she said highlights would really brighten things up!  Well I did it.  My teenage daughters tell me now I have style!  I really felt like I looked good. I didnt feel badly either.  I thought I'm going to let myself enjoy this!  I have earned it.  It really felt great!  I don't know if anyone understands what I'm saying here but I figured all you ladies who have lost your hair to chemo in the past would "get it". 
Anyone else had this feeling??

My hair is just growing back and I have already taken the dye to it! and I only have stubble!

I know what you mean, I will not color my hair before the PET because I feel I jinx myself....but I did color my toe nails, ha!!!
