XL Panties save family

For anyone who followed JoanofArdmore's thread on the value of comfy panties, this is a must-read:
LONDON: From baggy knickers to the ultimate hotpants: Jenny Marsey's miraculous underwear saved the day by doubling as an emergency fire blanket when her kitchen caught alight.
Son John Marsey and his cousin Darren Lines were frying bread in her kitchen Sunday when fire broke out and Lines grabbed the nearest thing from a pile of washing to put it out - his aunt's billowing extra large powder blue underwear.
He doused it with water, tossed it over the fire and put out the flames, said a spokesman for the local Cleveland Fire Brigade, speaking anonymously in line with department policy.
Lines' swift thinking saved the kitchen of the home at Hartlepool, northeast England, but left Marsey's underwear slightly scorched.
"It could have been a lot worse," said Marsey. "My family could have been in hospital but the knickers saved the day. I'm just grateful to the boys."
The fire brigade spokesman said that the general principle - using a large, wet cloth to cover a grease fire - was a sound one. As for using underwear: "Clearly it depends on what size you are," he said, "but I don't want to go there."

OMG!!! That is SOOOOO funny!!! Somehow it makes me feel better about my XL "knickers."

"pffftttt" .......... if you're reading joan, know that i adore you and your sense of self/humour!
at 4'10" and 100 lbs soaking wet my panties (or lack there of) probably wouldn't distinguish a fire, but i could always run for my 'suckie blanket' .......... yes ladies, at 40 i still have a 'suckie blanket' lololol! .......... i think i'd let my house burn down before i sacrificed it though .......... lord knows i've been teased for 30 years about my 'blankie' .......... i even travel with the nasty, thread bare, raggedy scrap of material ......... joan if you're reading i hope you're laughing with me, like i always laugh with you!

Well if my panties were in the laundry, that means I would not put fires out w/the precious things!Only the ones that are real old, and the elastic is raveling.
Although when I was moving, I did weed some out of my drawer. Thus the DUSTrags.
Shel you tiny thing! You should save your blankie safe and sound, and not be putting fires out with it!I would actually sacrifice some just-washed huge knickers before I'd let you get your blankie.
I utterly adore YOU, Darlin! And I get so happy when I see you!
Kris, you're too funny!!Heeheehee wherever did you find this?Shame we can't link it to the "panties" thread!
Thank you for giving THIS old bat a big new laugh!
