My mother is two years past treatment (6 doses chemo, xtra radiation--she was in a study)--her life is miserable!!! She is so fatigued, depressed, etc...she is in a doom loop..will seldom get out of bed.suffers form headaches, IBS, bone pain, nausea, etc.her doctor is fairly unresponsive ..1) she is not the best doctor and 2) my mother is non-compliant..does anyone please know of a "rejuvenation clinic"--I thought I found one on the net a while ago that did a 2-4 week stay..anyone have any info..thanks and happiest holidays to all.

Leslie...I'm not sure what a rejuvenation clinic is, but maybe some of the women over on the "Alternative..." board may have some ideas. Some of the better wellness spas have special programs for those who have/had life-altering illnesses. She might need to be treated for what sounds like depression first, though, before she's able to take advantage of complementary therapies. Has her doctor proposed prescribing an antidepressant? It's so very common for depression to follow active treatment for bc and lots of other somatic symptoms can crop up too. Maybe its time for her to switch doctors?

I agree with Marin that at two years past treatment you might be thinking about finding a thearpist to evaluate your Mom for depression.

Many women suffer long-lasting side effects from breast cancer treatment, but usually they've pulled themselves together, at least kind of, by two years.
