Saw my Oncologist and I am finally free from all medication. I have graduated!

My last official appt with Oncologist is April 1st. What a date!!! For the first time in my life I will be looking forward to April Fools Day.

This is a bittersweet time for me. I wish that Stacey (Sunshine) was still here with me so that I can tell her this wonderful news. I went to pick up the phone to call her and then realized that she is in a different time zone without a phone.

Being free will be a new adventure for me and I will keep all of you in my thoughts, in hopes, that you too will someday be free.

It has been a long haul. First bc then my ovarian cancer.

I plan to celebrate ever minute of every day and know that in my heart I will breath for all those women who have been given wings and are now flying in the Heavens.

May we take each moment to celebrate their lives with our own accomplishments!

Another '03 graduate here. Congratulations on being free. But what I don't understand is - does that mean you aren't taking an AI? Did you finish your 5 years of Tamox? I asked my onc how long I would be on Femara and he said 10 years. That seems pretty long to me.

Love to hear news like this---So happy for you!   Is it Raloxifene (Evista) that you are finishing up?  If so, I wonder if its like Tamoxifen--in that its protective effects continue for years after discontinuing it?

'02 is my class. yes I am finished with the Raloxifene! It is different from Tamox...not as long lasting. But I am so happy to be off drugs!

It's a great feeling, isn't it? You've been through so much. I'll pray you spend more time off meds than I did! I was a Class od '02 grad, then got sent back for remedial training (a "do-over" as my onc calls it!)
