Question about risk for second breast cancer

    Hi there

    I was diagnosed with Stage 1 (node -ve, estrogen +) IBC 4 years ago when I was 61. I had a mastectomy on that breast for peace of mind.

    I worry about my risk of developing a second primary in the other breast. Does anyone know what the general risk in terms of percentages of developing a new breast cancer in the other breast?

    I have asked my doctor, and he said the risk was "low" but could not quantify it.
