Hello everyone,

My name is Melissa Munroe, a Toronto based film-maker currently shooting a documentary feature film dealing with the subject of breast cancer. In particular, my goal is to bring forth such themes or aspects of the disease that might have been overlooked, neglected, or otherwise left without due attention, and thus remain outside the scope of general awareness. As a young stage four Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer survivor myself, I have been able to establish strong bonds through mutually shared cancer experiences, and feel apt to present the subject with due authenticity.

At present, I am seeking individuals of diverse nationalities and/or those diagnosed at an early age willing to join my endeavor and allow me to accompany them throughout their respective journeys. Most importantly, I would like to learn from their experiences how did the factors of race, religion, tradition and age affect each woman's individual struggle with cancer; did they offer a shoulder to lean on, or another block to stumble over? What are the added emotional/psychological conflicts such individuals are faced with on top of the many plights of cancer?  

It is my hope, through this film, to raise awareness of these issues amongst the general public; thus allow for a better understanding and appreciation of the struggle these women are facing, while, at the same time, offering future cancer victims the benefit of their experience as guidance towards better decision making.
