Dimpling

Hi, I am 33 years old and I recently found dimpling in my breast. I was hoping to find out if this a sure fire symptom of breast cancer or if it could hopefully be another problem.

It DEFINITELY could be another problem. Breast cancer in your age group is unusual.



Definitely see a doctor and get it checked out! But most breast problems, especially in women your age group, are benign.



For example, these are the causes of breast dimpling that wrongdiagnosis.com lists. I don't know how good they are, but there is surely more than one cause of dimpling.

Breast abscess

Breast cancer

Inflammation to the fatty tissue of the breast

Trauma to the breast

Mastitis

Duct obstruction

Fat necrosis

The likelihood that it is NOT cancer is greater than that it is bc; but it is  a good idea to get it thoroughly checked out.

That was the only symptom I had...dimpling and was never able to feel a lump.  Definitely have it checked out.  Although, I am much older than you, I was 58 at the time of my diagnosis.

    I know dimpling can suggest breast cancer, BUT..... in my 30s, I had stretch marks from nursing that my gyno thought was dimpling when he first saw them. It was not dimpling from cancer. I followed up very thoroughly... At age 57, I was diagnosed with LCIS (and nothing else) which has nothing to do with stretch marks...
