Kelly,
Warm hugs to you, your mom and your family. You have all been through so much - I wish for the most positive results for her. I am so very sorry she is having to struggle more with the beast - she has been through so much already. It is wonderful to hear the news that Elizabeth is recovering well. Please send much love to your mom. We are all here holding hands with her in support.
Take care,
Laura

Joy and family-- you are all in our prayers as you go through more problems. I'm so very sorry that things aren't getting better yet... you have surely been through enough. You are so brave, and I wish nothing but the best for you.
Wishiwere-- thank you for emailing us to let us know. I haven't been good about checking in regularly, and the email did the trick... it got me to "come back home" and see how things are going. Thank you for thinking of that.
-Sally
-
Joy (and Kelly--hi, and thanks so much for writing)--

Wishiwere -- Thanks for the e-mail....I haven't been checking in lately ...just too darn busy...but I'm loving every minute of it ..
I have 2 more Herceptin treatments to go ... Yippeee!!! I have one this Friday (11/28/08) and the last one Dec. 19, 2008 ....Dr. says all is well... I am supposed to go at 7:30 in the morning tomorrow for some new gizmo called a Breast Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI) ... have any of you had this or heard of it? Supposed to be a relatively new thing... you do this in conjunction with your Mammo ... I had a Mammo last week and now this .... Dr. says they will do this alternating every 6 months one for the other for a while....... I don't know, I just do what I'm told ...
How is everybody? I sure have had all of you on my mind, but I just haven't been on the computer too much lately... don' t have near as much time since Iv'e been getting somewhat back to normal.(if there is such a thing) ...my hair is coming in much darker and wavy...had it trimmed twice already....how about any of you?...Hope all is well with the rest of you... and lets all remember Joy and her family in our prayers ... thanks again Wishiwere for letting us know....
love and blessings to you all!!!

Hello all! So much catching up to do!!
First, Joy & Kelly, I am wishing you the very best!!! You are in my prayers daily! Please keep us updated!
So now, Hellooooo! I've been trying to keep caught up and think of you guys all the time! I'm having all sorts of mixed emotional feelings these days. My diagnosis date came & went on the 12th and I just had my first mammogram yesterday after a 2 week delay due to a terrible allergic reaction to some lotion. My chest was a terrible, red, peeling, itchy mess and of course I waited too long to go the the Dr. thinking it's just a rash..it will go away soon. So, 2 weeks and massive spreading later I went and got some cortio-steriod cream that cleared the rash well but I still have itchy spells. It was way worse on my radiated areas!
I had a wonderful 11 day trip to Disney in September and am actually going back on Wednesday! So, last December 3rd I was having my port put in and this December 3rd I'll be on a plane headed to Disney World! Happy, happy, happy!!
Laura, so happy to hear your DH is finally with you! How wonderful!!
I'm on my 3rd haircut and just got some highlights too! I'm letting it head in the same style as Kate from Jon and Kate plus 8, if any of you watch that!
At my mammogram yesterday, I had a "moment" when I realized the last time I was at that facility was the day of my surgery! I am just so thankful to be here and to be feeling great and I feel just terrible (sad, scared) when I hear of someone else's struggles with this stupid, messed up, breast cancer crap!!
We have snow here now and it was so pretty sticking to the trees. I'm almost done Christmas shopping and what I have finished is all wrapped! I'm feeling ahead of the ball but with going to Disney, I wanted some stuff done early!
Suz, Amy, WIW, Sally and everyone, I hope you are all feeling great! What a difference a year makes! I think of you all all the time!! Have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow!! Lori
-
Lori, Its so great to here from you! It has been a long haul for all of us and even longer for others. Im happy your carrying on.... I also find it difficult to come here at times, but I do think of everyone all the time. You gals carried me through all my treatments surgeries and everything else whether you realize it or not.
I broke down yesterday after finding out about Joy, but that will do no one any good! I can only send possitive thoughts and prayers and hope she knows they are there for her in her time of need!
So love hugs and prayers to everyone, Suz
-
Happy Thanksgiving ladies!
Dear Joy and Kelly, I am just heartbroken to hear about the need for more surgery, and yet another set-back. I hope Joy is recovering well, and that she too is craving a hamburger! Our sisterhood here on the boards will continue to pray for Joy's recovery; we are all rooting for you and your family. Giant cyber hugs to you all!
Today I am especially thankful for each one of you beautiful ladies, who carried me, supported me, over the past year. Though I do not post often, I check the site all the time, and really do enjoy reading about how everyone is doing.
Sending lots of love, and prayers for good health, for us all. xoxoxo Cindy
-

Hello Everyone,
This is Kelley. again writing for my Mom, Joy. She wants you to know that she had a wonderful Thanksgiving and hopes you all did, too. We ordered a huge dinner from Cracker Barrell and brought it to the Hospital. We were all together and really enjoyed the time and good food. She is continuing to receive radiation each day and chemo every 3 days in her head (I don't know all the technical terms). I have come back home to Savannah for a few days and plan to be back on Thursday evening. She is in good spirits and intends to fight off the beast with everything she has! She has lost the vision in her left eye and is hoping to keep what is left in the right eye...I will type for her.
I will continue to send updates to you. I read her all of yours, thanks.
Love and best wishes to each of you,
Kelley
-
{{Kelly & Joy}} Thank you SO very much for the update! Will post this on the other threads keeping her in thoughts, if you haven't already done that. Sending more gentle {{hugs}} and many more prayers and good thoughts that Joy continues to use her good spirits to fight this demon! Joy, you are in my thoughts and prayers daily and will continue to be, even though I don't post daily. My thoughts are sent especially this week as Kelly returns home till she returns to your side
Rest well dear friend. -
Dear Joy and Kelley, Thank you so much for posting your Thanksgiving update. We have been thinking of you and praying for you and your family since your last post. I cringe thinking about this new intense treatment plan, but know you are a fighter, and will do all you can to fight this, once and for all. I was listening to Alicia Keyes new song last night, SUPERWOMAN, and thought of you. You are one tough chick, with an S on your chest, and we will all keep the faith with you!!!! I hope you are getting some VIP treatment in the hospital, and able to rest. My whole family sends our love. Cindy
-
From Kelley and Joy,
Forgot to tell you all...the surgery went well. The have been giving the radiation through the omaya??? (I think that's right) and everything working well. Mom says "thanks so much for all the prayers and continued support from my sisters". We will be checking the thread named for her, thanks so much! I am talking with her several times each day and will see her again Thurs. evening.
Kelley and Joy
-
Kelly? Did you mean the chemo is given through the omaya reservoir?
So good to get updates, and hope you continue to do well with the treatments Joy! Know we are there, extending a hand out when Kelly can't be
All our prayers, good thoughts and gentle {{hugs}} continue
-
yes, that is what I meant to say. Mom will receive chemo Monday and radiation each day next week.
Thanks,
Kelley
-
Okay...I know nothing about this stuff and am learning while reading here, so thanks for that. I can only imagine that you are overwhelmed with all with this. I know learning about the simpler (if thats an understement!) of my own breast cancer, it was overwhelming, so I can imagine what you are going through while traveling too. Please know we keep your travels back and forth in our prayers also. Please share a gentle {{hug}} with you mom from us too when you get back there Thurs.

-
Kelley.. (sorry for spelling your name wrong earlier) Please tell Joy that the love and prayers for her are echoeing in the mountaintops right now! I believe!!!!! is what I shouted and keep hereing over and over back to me!
Please let her know we all believe. I will repost your message to a few of the other smaller boards/sites.
I cant thank you enough for keeping us posted! Warmest gentle hugs sent your way!
ps..... Is there a place/motel to stay close by if I had a remote chance to visit the area?? Thats a big "maybe" so if you have a spare moment later on.... when I know if I can get away... I will touch bases with you!
So much love and hugs!`suz
-
Kelley - Thanks for the update on your mom! Please tell her we are continuing the pray for her and keeping her in our thoughts and hearts ... A big {{{HUG}}} to the both of you..
Jeannie

Hi Everyone,
This is Kelley again, for Joy. My Mom is still in the Hospital. I have been reading her your posts. When she is awake for any time at all, she always asks to hear them. She is continuing to receive radiation every day until next Tuesday and getting chemo every 3 days. She is so tired....exhausted. I have been with her since Tuesday - going home to Savannah tomorrow. Mom is really fighting hard and trying her very best.
I will send updates to you. Thanks so much for your prayers, kind thoughts and words.
Thanks again and our prayers go out to each of you.
Kelley
-
Kelly, thank you so much for the update!
{{Joy}} Keeping you close in heart and prayers dear lady! Get the rest you need, eat and drink as much as you can and get that strength back to fight this beast lady! We'll be keeping up the chant! Die cancer cells, DIE!
Remember we're here awaiting your return to posting regularly yourself! Give Kelly a sweet {{hug}} for keeping updated as she has! She's an angel for us all

Warm and gentle {{hugs}} Kelly and JOY!!!
-
Dear Joy and Kelley,
How brave and strong you both sound! My husband, children and I are praying hard for your continued strength and will to fight those nasty cancer cells. I am so thankful for your updates, Kelley, and am so glad you have been able to be by your mom's side and hold her beautiful hand. She is so blessed to have such a wonderful family support.
I have a nuclear bone scan this Monday, long story, and will be glad to put that behind me, and the results will confirm the marrow edema/bone bruise seen on my MRI, on my humerus, is just that, and not bc related. Ahhh!
We love you Joy! Love to all you SuperWomen !!!Cindy and Gang
-
Kelley thanks for the update. Your mom is such a trooper and so very strong, she can do this!!!!! We are all praying for her here. Good that you had a nice Thanksgiving, Cracker Barrel food is usually a pretty good bet for home cooking style for sure. I am sure you are so overwhelmed with all that is going on so it is very nice you take the time to update us here. ((((Hugs))))
