-
Happy birthday, Jo!
Nice to see you here again Alicia.
I was one of those who lost weight on Tamoxifen; I had already lost over 20% of my body weight when I started it. Have been off for about 5 weeks, have gained back 5 pounds that I needed, now hope I don't overshoot the mark! The weight issue seems to be a never-ending battle, whether we need to lose or gain.... Jane, I think you have the right approach!
It's just not the same around here without Jo.... so I will send each of you a *WHACK* to remind you all that pillow fights are a weekend necessity! WHACK!!! Now, sitting back, on guard for any retaliations! -
Has anyone experienced a rash -- I have a rash on my hand - on the top (not palm) between the thumb and index finger -- it is like hives and itchier then anything --- just curious.
-
Hey Sistas! I am finally home. Don't know if I can catch up, I am so far behind. Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers. I am really sore and resting in my chair. I am supposed to call my PS on Monday for a Friday appt. DH has been great helping out and walking the dog. So glad I did not have to spend my entire birthday in the hospital. I see Linda is wanting a pillow fight - just wait girlfriend until I am feeling better. Love you guys so much and have missed you.
-
Oh, Jo! I'm so sorry you had a problem but SOOOO glad it's taken care of AND that you made it home in time for your birthday! So God is good and it all worked out! Hope you have a wonderful birthday - I know just being home seems like the best present of all!
Take it easy on yourself and enjoy some pampering for a while. I know you're so glad it's all over and it's going to look so good. I'm happy for you that you made this decision and got 'er done!
Take care and HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Oh, and maybe not doing any pillow-whacking just yet

Got up and took a shower this morning. It is a bit of a production with the drains but I feel soooo much better. Had some breakfast and food really does not taste good yet but I know I have to eat. Did not sleep really good but at least got some rest. Gonna relax today. I have a hand quilting project I can work on and sit in my chair. Most likely will nap this afternoon.

I have been tolerating Tamoxifen well for one year now until recently.
I've noticed my eyesight changing, bone pain and chest pains.
Vision change is what is most disturbing to me. I feel like a cloud is over my right eye especially.
Anyone else have vision problems?
Recently had a CT scan and blood tests, thank God all is well.
I am a stage3, colon cancer survivor and Stage 1 Breast cancer survivor.
-
MissTW - I started Tamoxifen November 2010. I now have dry eyes and deteriorating vision. Have an eye DR appointment this coming Friday. I'm not sure that is Tammy related but suspect so. Last exam was not long before I started taking it. At that time DR diagnosed "indications of future cataracts." I think the changes have been too rapid for natural progression to explain them. Can only wait to see what he says.
I know others have reported eye problems on here and I'm sure they will chime in too. Someone alway has answers and or good suggestions. This is the first time I've mentioned this problem on here myself.

I am alittle late for your birthday wishes Jo so Im sending you some late birthday wishes, Happy Birthday!!!! Heres ya a little something something I found for you!

-
thank you Paula -- I was waiting for this ...
-

Saw this so thought I would add this -- happy belated Jo ....
-
Paula - Girlfriend! I can have my cake and eat it too - LOL! You find the best eye candy. Thanks!
-
Jo, welcome back! So good to see you, and you will feel even better once the drains are out.
Tamoxifen is known to be associated with cataract development. I went from no problems to early cataract within 6 months of starting tamoxifen. I don't think it is reversible - the eye doc just said we can do surgery when I have "lost enough vision." With my track record of adverse effects and complications from every procedure I have had, I am not in the least pleased with this cavalier attitude from him and my BC team. -
Linda - Don't blame you one bit. What kind of an attitude is that? You would think they would have more compassion. Let me throw them in the bonfire and we can watch them burn. NO Wait! You throw them in and we will watch them burn - I can't lift anything that heavy yet - LOL!
-
Loving the eye candy bday presents you received Jo! You are sharing, right>? teehee I'll just drool on them a bit and give them back.
-
Galsal - I do know I spent 20 years in the military and none of the soldiers looked like that when I was in. LOL!
-
Jo, I am tossing stuff onto the bonfire tonight - responded to your suggestion on the Bonfire of the Goddesses. Glad you are making little progress, and enjoying the eye candy provided for your benefit (thanks Paula, and it looks like Joanne is contributing as well!).
One week from today I will be done with the semester - hope to survive giving my last final exam next week - the students seem to be as anxious about their grades as we are about scans!!! Wish I could help give them a little reality check on what is REALLY important in life! -
Went to the PS today and got my first fill since surgery. I now have cleavage. Kinda strange as I was always so flat chested I have never had cleavage in my life. Did not hurt and I feel great. Oldest son and girlfriend are coming tomorrow for dinner and Wed I am giong back to work part time, next week I go back full time. PS said I can go braless and never have to wear a bra again unless I really want to. Came home and took it off. Went for a walk and when I put my exercise shirt on it actually hung correctly. Silnce all my lumpectomies it has been lopsided every time I wear them. It was nice to look in the mirror and see my clothes fit properly.
So after much thought I have decided to give tammi another try. I will start tonight since the PS gave me the go ahead. I see the MO next Friday and will talk to him about my concers. I figure I will take it three months at a time and if things get like they were before I will go off of it. Wish me luck.
