Valgal - One of the first things I did was have my vitamin D level checked and it is okay.  I do have a history of osteoarthritis and Tammi seems to be making it worse.  I did some research and one of the SEs of Tammi is joint pain - UGH!

faithroad - Success stories are the best.  I tend to take even the smallest of victories these days.

tink so glad your daughter had a better day at school.  Sounds like things are improving altho I know it can be a slow process.  I continue to keep ya'll in my prayers.

Jo-When I first went on tammi one of the many SE I had was joint pain specifically Hip joint.  Anyway my MO put me on glucosomine chondroitin.  He said the joint pain is really bad with the AL's and he has had good success with his patients taking glucosomine.  He had me take the liquid as he said it absorbse quicker.  I started out at 2Tablespoons 2 times a day.  I am now taking 2Tablespoons once a day.  I think I am going to keep taking it for another month and then cut it out and see what happens.  I can always go back to taking it if I need to. But maybe my body has adjusted and I don't need it anymore.

Sherry - The glucosamine/chondroitin seems to be working well and the added benefit is that it has 2000 IUs of Vitamin D.  I am taking the Osteo-Biflex.  Have used it in the past with good results.  Don't know what my MO will say about all this.  I just decided on my own to stop taking the Lyrica and give this other a try.  I don't see him until mid June.  Hopefully by then, I will be off the Osteo-Biflex.

I have to catch up too ~ glad to see some new faces ~ and some regulars back.  JUNE hope you feel better ~ you have been missed.

I am getting depressed as usual after surgery.  I am still hurting a bit not too bad but in enough discomfort to be annoyed.  Tomorrow I have to travel to the plastic surgeon at Sloan Kettering to get my bandanges off my nips and get trained on how to dress them and bandage them for another week.  THIS will be the big reveal.  My hips where they cut skin off really hurts.  OUCH.  So enough complaining from me, I am just glad it is over.  4 surgeries in less that 2 years is enough for me.  Monday I see my Oncologist for tumor markers and all that good stuff.  Pray for good results my friends.  Hope to be back in the loop soon.

    Miss you all ~

    HUGS<

Faithroad- My day was ok, thanks...I am getting frustrated at my lack of my usual 'oomph' but the frusration is anger which is a good part of greiving a loss and moving on right? (so I have been told@)

Jo- I am awaiting my vit D results (plus estrogen and he heart stuff). What should my vitamin D be according to what your doc has said?

June- I am glad your dad feels a modicum of relief to know tha thos big decisionas have been made adn that he has a say in  it...has he decided where he is going to be buried? Can you plant flowers or bushes in cemeteries in the States? if yes, any special plant he would like? Take time out each day for you June....it will help you to recharge your battery...even a walk around the block

Alicia- sorry you are sore....healing going on i suspect....this too will be over soo. You have made it this far...good luck my dear!

hugs to all. Seems like a day where everyone I have come in contact with needs it.

Sandee - My onc does not test for vitamin d levels.  I told him I was taking a split dose of calcium with vit d - 1200 mgs a day and he said that was enough.  Told me my GP should do the test.  I am due to see my GP next month along with the MO so, I am going to ask both again and make someone do the test.

Tink -- Feeling a little better this morning.  So much happening all at once and just too overwhelming to completely handle right now.  Everything will work itself out in time.  I think all of us need a good ole pillow fight on Friday night.  We haven't had one in awhile and we deserve it.

How is your daughter doing?  Hope she is feeling better.  How are you these days? Really miss you on here.

SherryC, glad your dad made it thru the surgery so well, what a relief and Valgal, thanks for that Vit D hint on feet.  My naturopathic Onc has been working on that issue. I had a score of 27, she raised it up to 67 on 5000IU/day, but cut that in 1/2 in Feb to see if I stabilized.  Ironically, I am just back from having a Vit D test this morning!  I have been getting cramps in my feet when I do yoga, that may be the reason?!  I'm busy and have not been on here as much as I'd like, still taking care of my brother's estate and it's a lot.

What I really want to share with all of you is this: I spoke at the Central Phx Relay for Life on Sat night.  I shared my story and encouraged the relay teams by telling them how important the research $ are, that my care is better than my friend who had it just 4 years ago. Anyhow, I did good, I spoke to over 600 people, if I'd have known that going in, I might have declined, but once I got there and saw all the survivors standing there, I knew I could not let them down.  It was an empowering experience. I left the sad, cancer girl on the track when I took the Victory Lap. I did not bring her home with me. I remembered who I am, an otherwise healthy person who just happens to have breast cancer.  What an unexpected blessing.  God is good.  Happy Mother's Day to all of you.  I will be with my kids at my son's college graduation next week.  Belated works for me when I can be with them in person.  I'm sending you all a big, loving hug - Boooosh!  Ya, I feel good again and it my 1 yr diagnosis anniversary is coming up the end of this month.  Stupid cancer, you picked the wrong wench to mess with.

Well I went to the bathroom at work a little while ago and dropped my iphone in the toilet.Yell Not ready for an updgrade so it will cost me $$$$.  I thought maybe I could blame this on tamoxifen as well.  That or for my DH calling me when I am trying to unzip my pants and I try to hold the phone on the my shoulder.  Now we know that does not work.Cry

Funny thing was my DH thought I was mad about something and hung up on him.  Now he is laughing and on his way to the AT&T store to get me another one.

Sherry - I am told if you remove the battery right away and put everything in a bag of rice overnight the phone should work again.  This comes from someone who did the same thing.  You may want to give it a try before going out and replacing the phone.

Jo the battery cannot be removed in a iphone.  You have to take it to an apple store and in my case that is Austin or San Antonio. so I would have to take the day off of work just to deal with it.  But maybe the AT&T store will have a solution.

My friend dropped her iphone in the toilet and she said after she let it dry out, it worked again. So I would wait.

Sherry - See how much I know about these new phones.  Mine is go basic - I just need to make calls.  I don't even know how to send a text message.  I am pretty good on the computer though.

Question for those that have/had been on tamox for years... I'm at the 3 year mark and I'm ready to throw in the towel. I think things leveled out after 6 months or so and I just got used to all the SEs. Now it seems that they're getting worse! Achiness, irritability, depression. Wondered if anyone else had leveled out and then got worse.

Daughters results came back saying all indications of benign lump. Will follow up in 3 months. So they are watching it. Grrrrr!

DH just signed contract for new job. Yipee!!!!!!! Will be in Austin this time next year or Colorado.

I started my Live Strong 6 week program out of the local hospital. I have a diet and exercise sheet to track everything. Heading out for maragrita's so I will start tomorrow. LOL

Hoping I can get rid of the knot in my back now.

Trying hard to do the day to day and not think to far ahead.

Tink, how's your daughter doing?  Hope it has been a good week for her and you. Hugs xxxx

Jules, so glad your daughter is OK and they want to follow up and be shure she stays that way.  Yes, I was concerned about you too but I think the thought of a possible threat to a child strikes fear in all of us.

My thoughts and prayers are with all that I have met on these forums and I rejoice with each of you when you report good news.
