Jo - Well. as long as you are not driving the park and are near your bed, you should be ok...likely causes drowsiness, hmm? Think I am going to watch my movie and pretend I have a drink at hand:)...11pm and I am wide awake...slept in too late this morning perhaps...

It is 9:00pm here and I am getting sleepy but that doesn't mean a thing.  When my head hits the pillow, I wake am wide awake and lay there and toss and turn.  Hope that does not happen.

Enjoy your movie!  What are you watching?

I would love to take you with me.  We could have such a good time - Oh the trouble we could get into together, it would probably drive my DH crazy.

You better behave - somewhat.  The girls may clip your wings and ground you.

I am headed to bed.  Took my melatonin about 20 minutes ago.  Will see what happens.  If sleep does not come, I will be back on here later.

    Good Night Everyone.

    Cynthia,

I also have RLS. I found the symptoms became much worse with chemo. I checked all the anti-nausea drugs with the RLS doctor and he said none would cause any problems. All I know is that since chemo and now radiation, the symptoms are very bad.

I am going to ask him about Tamox.

Good Morning Ladies!  What a great day.  I slept soooo good.  I took my 10mg Melatonin about 9:30, went to bed at 10:00 and the last time I looked at the clock was 11:00.  Had a warm wave during that hour but did not have to get up, just threw the covers off.  Got up 2 times to go to the bathroom but was able to get back to sleep right away.  I may be on to something here.  If anyone is interested, I bought the 10mg timed released Melatonin and so far it works great.  I will have to let everyone know how it works tonight.

Morning girls...  I have made a decision that I am giving myself a break from tamoxifen.  With flying, vacation and then the week I return nipple surgery ~ I am taking 2-3 weeks off.  I am still feeling very anxious and have waves of a funny feeling come over me.  I think it is tamoxifen and stress.  I want to see if it happens without the tamoxifen.  My husband is stressing that I am doing this.  But I have great resolve that this is worth a try and when I see my oncologist in May we will discuss what to do.  I want to enjoy my vacation and not worry about feeling like I am going to drop dead.

I hope everyone has a nice Sunday ~ mine will be spent hours on the lacrosse field.

    :)

Jo: so nice to hear you finally had a great sleep.  It is so important and needed getting up every 2 hours and having trouble getting back to sleep is wearing.  Hopefully you may have turned the bend here and will be able to do some catch up before getting on that cruise ship!

Jo - yay about the sleep. I have slept well too the last few nights..take the zopliclone 15 minutes before I hit the hay and then I have beenout cold...and I have not taken tamoxifen for 5 days...wonder if there is a connection?

Alicia- as everyone here said to me..it is still in your system protecing you for 4-6 weeks ...you just aren't adding fuel to the fire. Go and enjoy your vacation!

Alicia - I don't think the break will do any harm.  It takes weeks for Tamox to get completely out of your system.  Are you packing yet?  I know your ship leaves on Sat and we are right behind you on Sun.  i will do my packing on Fri.  We are supposed to leave Sat morning but if I am done early enough in the day, we will head out of Fri and hang out on Galveston Island on Sat.

Teklya - Thanks!  I sure hope this will work.  I have not had a really good run at sleep for the past 8 months.  I want to be able to get sleep while on vacation.

Alicia... I dont blame you you need to enjoy this vacation and regroup. I understand excatly what you mean about a funny feeleing coming over you I had that back in oct/nov... so hard to explain something is just off and for me its almost like I was walking in slow motion and everything was kinda sureal and blurry for a few secs... hence the CAT scan which was fine when I came off Tam for surgery all was fine... so enjoy your cruise enjoy your break! hugs

JO..So glad to hear you slept last night that is wonderful news!!!! :)

    Have a great day ladies

    Alicia,

Taking a break from Tamoxifen should be ok, as long as you let your doctor know you are doing it.  I took off 2 weeks, about 6 months after I started taking it.  My doctor was ok.  It was because I had those Uterine Polyps growing, and I didn't think it was a good idea to keep taking it.  I will caution you, though.  The nurse practitioner told me that 2 weeks was the max for me...  I wouldn't go more than THREE weeks...

June - Now I can't believe that little innocent Tink would do something like that or would she?  You ladies are going to have a tough job while I am gone keeping her in line.  I do wish you the best of luck.

Sherry - How are you doing?

Hey tammi sistas.  My friends left a little while ago and then I work in the yard just a bit until it got too hot.  When I came in and took a shower I could tell I got sun on my arms.  Feels like summer is here.  I sleep so good last night.  Took my melatonin and no vivid deams and my hot flashed have calmed down dramatically.  Just take the covers off cool down and go right back to sleep.  I sleep until 9am, felt so good.  I guess I have finally won over tamoxifen.  Have to say it really put a fight with me.

Sandee I read the books.  So I know what you mean about disturbing.  They were a good read burt I have been hesitant about watching any of the movies.

Jo and Alicia next weekend you guys will be gone.  Hope ya'll have a wonderfull vacation.

Alicia I would not worry too much about getting off tamox for a short period of time.

Jo so glad the malatonion worked for you woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Sherry/June- the movie started off with violence...I actually turned it off for 2 hours as I didn't want to see it....but I remembered the book and remembered that most of it was about her recovery and the trial so I turned it back on and didn't watch the first bit.....disturbing in that I am very aware that it happens, having worked at a shelter for youth and battered women in my twenties and thirties...but very disturbing anyhow...I was also disturbed by another element in the movie and that was that she was not listened to or believed....that always upsets me.

Jo - don't you worry about Tink. We will keep an eye on her while you are gone! we might want to put a bell on her before you go.

Alicia/Jo- feeling envious ( in a good way ) that you are going on vacation! ENJOY for the rest of us!!

Sherry - So glad you have finally leveled off and the Tamox is not giving you any problems.  Like my MO would say "Life is Good".

Sandee - Not only will I put a bell on Tink, I may clip her wings a bit.  That way she can't get away from you. hehehe

I will miss each and everyone of you while I am going.  Will have lots to catch up on when I get back.  I am so ready for this vacation.  We are on central time - it is 3:15pm.  This time next week, we will be on the ship and waiting for it to set sail at 4:00pm.  We head for Jamaica first, will get there on Wed morning.

This time next week you will start to feel relaxed and we will hold the fort while you are eating fruit and slathering on sunscreen! (esp on the breast cancer arm!!)..as for Tink...yeah..I was thinking about the wing-clipping thing too but we don't want any permanent damage....a big bell might suffice! your call.

Sherry - I know what you mean.  Even though I am on Lyrica, I still have pains in my toes.  I really don't want to be on another prescription drug and am considering doing the glucosamine instead.  Won't make any firm decision until I get back.  I understand that Lyrica is one of those drugs you have to come off slowly. Would hate to stop it now and have withdrawals or worse while I am on vacation.
