Elanor welcome aboard. This is a great group of ladies that are always here for you.
Jo-giving you cyber ((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))). You are always so positive for the rest of us here and everyone reacts differently and whatever it is you are needing is OK. I will be celebrating for you because I cherish the friendship we have made over the last year. And when you come to see me will be my one year cancerversary so I think we will drink some wine to it and our friendship.
Party at Paula's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well with my fam being around I have gained weight. Went to put my jeans on for pics yesterday and that had been loose and needed a belt and they fit perfectly. So if my fam was around more I would not have any problems. maybe I can make them all fill guilty. hehe

Wow. I need to learn how to attach photos. Then I need to find some photos to send, not that I'll enjoy the hunt...
Jo, you seem to be one of the most positive, supportive women on this thread. You deserve to lose it sometimes, too, though. I found the year anniversary (everyone counts differently. In my case I counted from the day I got the biopsy results (two days after the initial mammogram/needle biopsy. I think until then I still hoped that it could possibly be a mistake. That day made it definitive) very emotional. I had that date in my head all year and it meant a lot to me to get past it. In Judaism, after a death, there are structured stages of mourning that last a year. I now see that I was really mourning all year. Mourning my lost breast, my carefree attitude towards my body, my presumption of wellness, lots of things. There is also an element of PTSD in that its the same time of year, same weather, same calendar, and it's hard not to feel freaked out by those memories, as if it's happening again. But it's not. And I made myself concentrate on how this year is SOOOO different from last year. Last year I was terrified and at the beginning of an unknown journey. None of us have 100% guarantees for the future, but neither does anyone else actually, and look how far we've come! We are different than we were last year, and we've been through a hell of a lot, for sure, but we're still here, still kicking, and maybe even stronger in many ways. This was my mini pep talk to myself, Jo. I hope it helps. But you're entitled to your down days; it's an emotional time. Helluva roller coaster!
I looked into Biotin and here's some info on how to get it naturally from food if you're interested, too. Its in Swiss chard, romaine lettuce, tomatoes and carrots, among other things. Thanks, Jo and Sherry for the info.
Thanks!
Shari
-
Shari--It's a good thing I eat lots of tomatoes in the summer from my garden and I eat carrots all year round. I planted swiss chard in my garden so that will be helpful as well. Thanks for the info.

Oh my! I stay off the site for a few days and the pillow fights and eye candy are getting pretty serious. You ladies are out of control and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
Really struggling with my weight. My onc says it has nothing to do with the Tamox or early enduced menopause. Do I need to say he's a man.
If I could just get some weight off I'd actually feel ok. Well other than the fractured rib, stiff neck, low bone density, lower back pain and the bula on my lung. LOL
Hey JO can I have some virtual pudding please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had a lumpectomy, does anyone still get the occasional twinge in the surgical site?
Jules
-
Jules - Yes but usually not intense.
-
Jules - I also had a lumpectomy and used to get twinges at the surgical site. After rads, I started having burning/stabbing pains that are permanent nerve damage from rads and I am on a medication to take care of it so I don't feel much of anything on that side anymore.
I know everyone likes chocolate pudding!!!!
