Breast and Rib pain

I have been having rib and chest pain for the past 3 months.  Gradually getting worse...  Saw Onc and he ordered a MRI of breast  Has anyone experienced this? I have been 5 years cancer free... Thanks Sissy

    I had pain in my sternum almost 8 years out from bc which turned out to be mets.  Ribs can be alot of things other than mets, get the scan and hopefully the results will be good.

    Thanks LuAnnH.  I have pain so severe that it takes my breath away.  Sometimes I feel like I have a broken rib.  Sissy

    Sissy,



    Is your doctor aware of the degree of pain you're in? He or she needs to know what you posted above, that the pain is so severe that it takes your breath away.



    Tomorrow is Friday, why don't you call them and see if he can't help move your test up, or perhaps consider an ER visit to get the MRI done given the degree of rib pain.



    It is very important to continue to communicate and update your doctor given your pain.

    pain like that almost sounds like a broken or cracked rib.  Definitely get it looked into but I would be surprised if it was mets.
