    Hi girls,

For those of you who wear the Amoena Contact Forms-can you recommend some good bras to go with them?  I have a few but some of them don't quite cover enough in the cleavage area.  No, I don't really have cleavage but I also don't want someone seeing the edge of the form.  Also, I have worn some bras that are all cotton and just slip over my head.  They look ok but I need more support (I still have one boob)but without an underwire.  Any suggestions?  I know I could go to a store and try on some but I figured I would ask here first.  I tried Victoria's Secret and was disappointed to find that none of their bras work for me.  Too much padding and pushing up.  I just need a simple bra but want it to look nice.

Also, during this time of year I just wanted to let you all know how much I am thankful this non-recon board and all of you.  I know...sappy.

    Carol,

I don't have any bra suggestions, but wanted to add my thanks for all the terrific women I've met on the non-recon board. It's made my bc journey so much easier and even a positive experience.

I'm a uni-boob too.  I went out yesterday and tried on quite a few regular bras to see if any would work.  I did find a Warner's bra that covered my form very well, and it was very comfortable.  It's lined, though, if that's a problem for you.  It has a daisy pattern on it, which might show through some things, but I think I'll pick up one when they go on sale.  It did look nice under a knit top.  That seemed to be about the only bra that covered the form, at least in my case.  I'm a large A/small B.  If you're a C or larger, you could probably find more bras that have enough coverage.  There seems to be more full-coverage bras available for the "full-figured" gal!

I don't have a contact form, but I would like to find some regular bras that can work for me.  Most of the mast bras I've tried on have wide straps that rub on my port and irritate it.  They don't seem to make them with narrower straps.

    Carol,

I wear two bras with my contact form. Most of the time, I wear a Wacoal Style 85226 "Everyday Softcup Bra". The main problem for me is that there are almost no non-underwire bras in my size. It also seems that non-underwire bras never have enough nipple coverage for me. These things were more of a problem than covering the form. I really love this bra though the nipple coverage isn't good enough for me to wear it with a t-shirt or thin sweater. For those occasions, I wear a Calvin Klein t-shirt bra though it is underwire. The Calvin Klein bra doesn't cover the entire form but the ridge of the form doesn't show even under a thin white t-shirt.

Neither bra is particularly pretty. I'm more interested in comfort, fit and what it looks like under clothes than that the bra be pretty.

Let me know if you find anything good!

After quite a bit of shopping I have found a few bras that seem to work with the Amoena contact form.  Maidenform makes a bra that seems to work well.  The style number looks like it is 40876.  I saw it at Kohls in white, black, tan and purple.  I really wanted the purple one but they did not have my small size (A).  While at Kohls I also got another Maidenform style number 40911.  This bra just goes over your head-no strap with hooks in the back.  Cute.  I bought one in red and one in black.  The Maidenform bras remind me of Anita bras but they are way cheaper.  I paid $6.98 for the Maidenfrorm..

I also have bras that my fitter showed me.  They look like they are made by a company called Gelmart.  They cover less than the Maidenform but still work for me.  I have them in light blue (so cute!), pink, and tan.

Lastly, because I am small and don't want an underwire (none of the bras I just mentioned have underwire) I bought a couple at Target.  They were in the teen section.  I just sort of eyed them and bought a large.  The work too.  Not as nice as the Maidenform but only $4.99 for two bras.

    Carol,

The Maidenform 40876 is a great bra! I discovered it when looking for unpocketed bras to wear with my Airway forms--the Tritex with the microfiber back. I've bought it in all available colors. Like you, I wear a size A (my Airways are size 2s), and the Maidenform bra works really well. I don't think I could wear the other Maidenform you mentioned, since it has no seam dividing the two cups. With a contact form, that wouldn't be a problem, I guess. But with non-contact forms and no dividing line, I'm afraid mine would migrate!!

Thanks for sharing the info. I hope these bras work for other women as well.
