Feeling lost, No peace

Sorry you are feeling poorly, TC.  I am kind of surprised your onc wanted you on arimidex for so long.  I will be 56 soon and have debated if it was worth taking the arimidex or femera because of my age.  It is rather morbid, but I am thinking now, "okay if I have five low quality of life years and live another 5, is it worth it?" 

I would think as we age the benefit of the AI's would be questionable due to the decrease in quality of life.  Has your onc tried other AI's? Maybe the onc can give you some other medicine.  It is worth trying if your quality of life is so poor.

I know what you mean about not feeling the same and/or taking it well.  As I said, my health was a badge of honor for me and a huge part of my personality.  Now that is gone and I feel lost without it.  Still I am trying to pull myself together and get back to enjoying life.   

One thing I try to remember is they are coming up with new ways to treat BC and other cancers all the time.  Maybe if I have a recurrence there will be some great new method of treatment.  So that is incentive to hang on and hang in.

I think family and friends have their limitations too.  It is probably painful for your sister to think about your cancer so now wants to consider you "cured" and move on. 

We have to deal with all the emotional fallout from our cancer but it may be too much for others. May family can be so blaming and negative, especially about health issues.  They too, pride themselves on their good health.   I was sure I would hear how I created my own bc.  That was the last thing I needed.
