Harley,
Just read your posts and am so glad you are all through with your surgery....I wish you had a better time with the ps though....it is not like you don't have alot on your mind as is!!!!! I bet you look great...is there any way he could fill more at a later date or is this it? I hope your soreness will resolve soon!
Barb -
Barb,
Yes, he can fill them a little more, later... he is just a jerk!
I told him that they don't really look much like breasts... just lumps and he said... you will never be happy...
Well, at least this is almost over! How are you doing? I haven't heard from you lately?

Harley,
I'm so glad you were able to have your surgery and you are doing well! I bet you're relieved to get that over with. I hope you have a restful weekend.

Harley,
I can't believe how insensitive some surgeons are....just keep on him until you get the results you want. You have been through enough already!!!!! How is the soreness? I hope you are feeling better...how is the hair growth? Mine is hard to assess since I didn't lose all of it, I think I may see a tiny bit of regrowth but maybe not! Keep in touch! Barb -
Cynthia,
I am doing great! I am still kind of sore, but doing ok otherwise. My bra is feeling uncomfortable, and I am trying to take it off for a few hours each night, because that is where I feel sore.
How are you doing? I haven't heard from you in a while. I've been thinking about you and hope you are doing well. Have you finished your rads?
Hugs

Barb,
My ps is a real jerk!
My hair... well, it is STILL very thin/fine... but at least it seems to be filling in with some darker hair. I didn't lose ALL my hair either, but it is still frustrating that it seems to be taking so long to grow back!
I am like you, I really do not notice much growth at all, even though my dh keeps saying that it is growing in nicely. I am using Nioxin hair treatment products, and will start taking Biotin soon to see if that helps any.
On Tuesday, I am going to a LOOK GOOD, FEEL BETTER seminar in Wilmington. I hear that you can get $250 worth of FREE makeup there!
Hugs,
Harley

Harley,
I finished rads 12 days ago and I'm finally starting to get some energy back. I started Tamoxifen yesterday. It was scary taking that first pill, so I'm glad I got it over with. I see my med onc next week and find out the CT Scan and mammo results. The tech showed me the mammo films so I know those look good, but I'll sweat the CT results until I know they were ok.
I'm glad your hair is starting to come in. It can be hard to tell in the early stages that it's actually growing. I hope you enjoy the LGFB class. I liked mine and I'm still using the makeup I got there.
Sorry we haven't connected as much before. This new board makes it a lot harder to keep track of where my friends are. I'm not really "hanging out" in one forum now, so it takes longer to see what everyone is up to. lol
Take care,
Cynthia

Cynthia,
I agree, the new boards make it hard to find anyone. I gave up trying to follow everyone in my chemo thread, because it became too difficult.Congrats on finishing rads! YAY!! I am supposed to start Tamoxifen, I think I will probably be starting next week. Well, I am going to my onc's office on Monday, but he is on vacation. That may be a good thing for me... lol I am nervous about starting the Tamoxifen, though.
I can't tell what is going on with my hair, but it SEEMS to be starting to get darker. That LGFB class is on Tuesday, and I am getting excited about it. Finally, something to look forward to... new makeup!
Take care. I hope we don't have many se's from the Tamoxifen.
Best wishes,
Harley
-
Harley,
Have fun at your seminar! That is good that you are looking forward to something fun!
Cindi,
I just got marked for rads and was wondering about the Tamoxifen...I was told to take it before rads by the onc and he said the radiation onc would probably disagree, so I waited to talk with her and she said it was ok to start...any thoughts on that?
Have a great day,
Barb -
Barb,
The LGFB seminar was fun! I took another woman from the coffee shop. She has bc with mets to the bones, but has been doing very well with the new treatment her new onc. has recommended. She goes to Duke for her treatment. I hope she continues to improve.
It IS nice to finally feel kind of 'normal' again.Good Luck with your rads.!
Best wishes,
Harley
