Did anyone catch the gay storyline on the Practice?

I thought it was really sweet. This 10 year old boy was sick but they couldn't find anything wrong with him, so when he got the dr alone he said he knew what the problem was, he was in love. The doc encouraged him to tell the kid. The doc said we would tell the woman he loves if the boy did the same. The doc chickened out. When the boy did, he was beat up. Turns out the kid was a boy. The boy was devistated and ran away, so the doc went to try to find him and bumped into the "love" of the boy's life. The doc gently set boy2 straight and smoothed things over for the friends. Then the doc found the boy, who had considered suicide but changed his mind. The boy said he wishes he was someone else. The doc told the boy that he wishes he was the boy, because the boy was so brave and the doc wasn't as brave. The storyline made me think about how far we've come since the Ellen show when she came out a dozen years ago. I'd like to believe that we live in a time when a 10 year old can feel ok about who  s/he is when realizing s/he's gay.

I watched that episode and the kid really did have more guts than the doc.  I remember when Ellen came out on one of her shows - if I remember right she said it into a microphone at an airport.

LOL-- yep Ellen inadvertently let the whole airport know she's gay!
