Hello,

I don't know where else on theis site to ask this question. I have just recently joined. I have noticed that some of the members have put photos of their faces next to their name on the list. I would like to do the same and wonder how I go about it.

Hi Kerri,

I am sorry you had to join us but glad you found us.

The picture that shows up next to our name is called an "avatar". Here's the instructions for how to put it.

   

1. Get a small picture of what you want to show up. It doesn't have to the one of your face, anything can be put as your avatar. (If you only have a large picture and don't know how to resize it, PM me. I will do that for you.)

    

2. Click on "My Home" up above the page.

     

3. On "my Home" page, you will see three sections where you can change the settings. Click on one of them called "My Profile".

       

4. Click on "Edit" next to the heading "Public Information".

            

5. Scroll down to the bottom. There is a "browse" bottun next to a small box saying "upload my avatar". Click on it and browse to the picture file on your computer which you want to show up as your avatar.

                       

6. Click on "Save and Exit" bottum BEFORE you move to another page of the site. It is a very important step. If you don't click on it, nothing will be saved and your avatar won't show up.

A small technical note to add to Timtam's excellent instructions: members have reported that it's not possible to upload avatar photos from an iPhone or iPad. For now, when changing or adding a new avatar file, plan to do it from your computer.
