I've had costochondritis right rib/chest for 2 months. Pain was severe when I coughed, sneezed or took a deep breath. I contributed it to radiation therapy over a year ago and a recent upper respirtory infection. I tried everything. Motrin, glucosamine, meditation, heat etc. Well I found this castor oil treatment on the net and was skeptical. I am a nurse practitioner so conventional medicine is all I know. Well it works!! after about 4 days my pain is almost gone!It really realy works. I put the castor oil on the area and cover it will clear siran wrap then apply a heating pad to area for approx one hour. Heres the website to read more about it:)

How fascinating.  Thank you for posting this.  I am in the midst of rad treatment and am wary of using oil that can be toxic but will keep it in mind if I still have pain afterwards.

    Stacey-

Thank you for sharing your find.  I have been having costochondritis symptoms on and off for a few months now.  Just when the pain lessons, I seem to strain myself and it gets a little worse. I have taken various (motrin, homeopathic, herbal) remedies and do get to a comfortable level of pain but can't seem to make it go away totally, especially when I sneeze. Tomorrow I will have to find castor oil and try this remedy.

    Thank you again.
