4 years ago I lost my hair

Just realized this morning that it was 4 years ago that I lost all my hair.  I know it was right before my birthday and my birthday is on Satur.  You should see how long it is now!!!!!!! 

Funny thing - my son has been asking me about it.  He just turned 6 and doesn't remember it at all, so he's been asking me a lot.  That has caused my daughter Maggie - age 8 - to tell me everything she remembers.  She remembers a lot - including the first time she saw me without my hair.  Of course this has brought some quiet tears to me - realizing all I went through 4 years ago.  Kinda brought it back home.  It's homecoming week where I teach and it was homecoming week then too.  I remember because it was pj day my first day to school with no hair, so my hat didn't stand out as much as it could have.

The sucky part - I've got a call into the onc about my cough and back/rib issues.  I had kinda hoped that 4 years later I'd be farther out.   Oh well - I have a new baby and that makes up for all this!

Glad to hear you made it 4 years. The memoried do bring back tears.

My mom is a 6 yr survivor and she lost her hair Halloween. The evening before we had dinner with her and she was doing great, the next afternoon, I get paged to come to the lobby of the office where I work and there were my parents. I look at mom and ask what is she doing there, I was not expecting her. I look at my dad with his hair cut short, look back at my mom realizing she had her wig on. After dinner the night before, she scratched her head and her hand came down with hair in her fingers. She went the next morning to her beautician where she washed mom's hair out and cut it short/buzzed, fixed her wig and then cut my dad's hair 1/2 inch long.

She always kept her hair short but it is looking nice now.

Do we ever forget, Jill? And it's the small things that trigger the most vivid memories, it seems. We'll always be in maintenance mose though and remain vigilant. That's just part of the deal. In return, we hopefully get new awesome, full lives. Sounds like that's just what you have!
