YIKES!!! My first walk. I am a solo walker but know I will meet many great people. I have started a "Cyber" friends list and a few pix to walk with me. "Every step I take, Every move I make,...I'll be for You." jacqui

Jacqui, good luck on your Avon Walk, I will be walking in the NC Foothills Komen Race for the Cure on Oct 20. I am organizing a team named 'Friends of Survivors'. the team started in 2001 for my mom and this year I am now a survivor also.

Good Luck Jacqui!
I'll be doing the Avon walk in NYC this weekend. This will be my 2nd time. I walked last year 6 months after finishing treatment. It was a great experience and you WILL meet many wonderful people.
II have met some people who travel and do more than one city.
One man, Mike McElduff, has done them all and has logged in over 1,000 miles so far, walking for his mother who passed away several years ago.
I'll let you know how it goes for me this weekend and I'd love to here about your experiences in Charlotte.

Jacqui,
Sorry, but I missed it... I think it's too late now, but I REALLY want to do the next walk. I guess I got caught up in my chemo txs and never checked to see when the walks were taking place...
My last tx will be on Tuesday, Oct.9th.
Good Luck!
Harley
P.S. I guess I'll have to wait til next year....

I did see Mike, and he will be in Charlotte next week. He walks for a team called "Peggy's Spirit" for his mother.
I hope you have great weather and a wonderful time. Drink pleny of water! -
Hi All,
I have been in Canada the past 2 weeks. Thank goodness because it has been too hot to walk here. It is pleasant now.
Peggy- COGRATS on your big walk. I am so excited for you. 2 WALKS-YIPPEE!!!!
How was it? I am prepared except getting a head cold so will start an antibiotic and of course decongestants. Who knows, I may even go to a Doctor! Any good hints, pass them on. I have arthritis in my r big toe..but I have gadgets, plan on stopping and rubbing feet, switch to running sandals, change socks..you know, distractions. Any other advice is welcomed.
Sheila, good luck on your Race for Cure. I will think of you and your team...
Harley, you have a date with me next year. Those treatments should be done I think by your post or finishing soon. You actually live very near me and my work which is in Little river. I will carry your name in my pack and walk for you. You can hold my hand and rub my feet in cyberville.
Thanks for all your encouraging thoughts and post. Jacqui
