The Komen Denver Race for the Cure if coming up soon. It is on Sunday, October 7th and the race starts at the Pepsi Center. This is my first race as a survivor. My DH and two DD are doing the race with me. Older DD and I will do the women's 5K race/walk and DH and 9 year old will do the co-ed 5K race. I am really excited to be able to do it. Last year I did the sleep in for the cure so I could fund raise as the raise fell on a holiday and I emotionally/physically was not ready to do it. For more info go to www.KomenDenver.org

This will give you info on registering if you are in the Denver/metro area (or into travelling for the race) or would like to make a donation. It will also give you info on how to make a donation. You can either make a general donation, or make a donation in some one's name. My goal is to raise atleast $400 - so far I am just over $100 - my DD and DH are also fundraising. The more money that can be raised the quicker we can get to a cure. My dream is that one day, no one has to hear the dreaded wods "you have breast cancer. Karen

Hi Karen,

I'll be there myself.  This will be my first year attending.  I really don't like crowds and so I've always avoided going.  But this year I'll be going with my husband, two daughters and several friends.  I really do have mixed feelings about the whole thing.  I want to show everyone that yeah, you can go through this and look/feel great but at the same time, it really saddens me that I am now an emissary of this disease.  Maybe i'll see you there?  I'll be the blonde wearing pink!
